Ten Network - Programs and Schedules

Is it just me, or is 10’s watermarks getting bolder and bigger. Kind of draws attention away from the show based on these caps. Kind of irksome.

Looks like 10 switched this up last night, given the prior weeks movie result at 7:30pm.

They aired a repeat of Graham Norton Show at 7:30pm, bumping Daddy’s Home to an 8:40 start.

Matlock was out of the schedule as they went to the Late News after the movie finished.

I absolutely hate the advertising watermarks. They have been getting bigger and more colourful in the past 12 months and they have them on screen for the entire program. I think this has been the most intrusive watermark in history in any era on any Australian FTA commercial network . It is very distracting and just looks terrible imo. Do these watermarks even work? They already have the ad breaks to advertise which are really just the same shows the watermark advertises anyway. It looks much better just having the 10 watermark.

Edit: I should clarify though I think it is the most intrusive watermark on “metro” Australian FTA because that giant blue solid WIN map watermark when they were a 10 affiliate was THE WORST.

I dont think we are too far off seeing text based advertising scrolling across the screen during programs eg the big M logo for McDonalds with text something like “Hungry? Check out our loose change menu at www.mcdonalds.com.au . Available for a limited time only”

Yep, if it helps pay the bills.

Don’t give either company ideas, last thing I need is to have an oversized w/m with a Maccas text scroller when trying to watch 10.

It already happens during live sport broadcasts and has been a thing for several years. Not sure who would put up with it while watching a movie or serious drama series though.

According to the advance guides, 10 will not be airing the King’s Christmas Day Speech, unlike the past two years.

It mean’s that this year the first airing of the speech will be on ABC at 7:30pm, with a late night airing on Nine as well.

Also streaming on Paramount+.

A few notes about programming for the next few weeks:

  • Friday 27th marks the last episode of The Talk at 7am - wonder what it will be replaced by?
  • Lunchtime News replaced mainly by Jaime Oliver repeats
  • Afternoon News replaced by mostly new episodes of Family Feud US
  • Final Late News for the year is Friday 20th
  • Neighbours replaced by repeats of Judge Judy
  • Saturdays 90 min News bulletin on hiatus from next Sat 21st, who knows if it will return in 2025?

How the fuck do you programme “School of Rock” and “Truman Show” on Christmas night and “Mission Impossible” on Christmas Eve.

Does 10 not have access to any Christmas themed movies?

Probably wanting to provide an alternative?

Wouldn’t they have the rights to Paramount Christmas movies :man_shrugging:

TBH, slotting Sonic 1 or 2 would do better IMO, it’d do well as Sonic 3 drops boxing day…

Guess 10 just wants to be different :man_shrugging:

Agree. Something Like Sonic 1 and 2 programmed on Christmas night would have been a lot better.

They have been buying Disney content lately, they could have got Home Alone 1 and 2 for Christmas Night.

The NBL airing on 10 again on Christmas night. And has failed to make an impact over the last two (?) years. But are persisting with it. Airing School of Rock and The Truman Show around it though is odd.

As for Christmas Day on 10, at least its all Christmas themed (assumingly so is Graham Norton), albeit all repeats.

Is it delayed in other states?

Assume no, except for Perth having a 30 minute delay, as 8.30 AEDT is 5.30 AWST.

Then again, it’s 10, so probably :stuck_out_tongue:
