There will be a number of announcements over the next few months for their plans for the back half of the year and kicking off over summer.
I know tens timings have been totally messed up by gladiators, but do u think they will be sweating about the Masterchef launch? Certainly not ideal to be launching a week into farmer and Lego.
Gladiators didn’t mess anything up. They rushed through the season in January and started Aust Survivor on the same day they usually would (up against Idol and MAFS) and I’m a Celebrity premiered on the date that was announced 6 months ago. 10 are on the schedule they were always going to be on.
Another pooch series (likely to be another weekend lifestyle show) for 10 this year
The Dog Down Under campaign is hosted by Lara Shannon, leading Australian dog expert and creator and host of Network 10’s Pooches at Play . Shannon will travel the country to meet with the finalists and winners from each of the five categories and share their stories in a five-part TV series to air on Channel 10 in September 2024.
From Screen Queensland
Cairns chosen for reality series Aussie Shore
Aussie Shore, the first Australian iteration of the smash hit international reality franchise from MTV Entertainment Studios that began with Jersey Shore, is set to showcase Cairns and Far North Queensland to the world.
Filming will commence in April, with the Paramount+ and MTV Entertainment Studios production being the first to use the newly completed $12.6 million Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns facility at Portsmith.
Secured by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy, Aussie Shore will contribute more than $3 million to the Queensland economy and provide approximately 100 crew and cast roles during production, with these benefits largely concentrated within the Cairns region.
Jacqui Feeney, Screen Queensland CEO said that the series will not only broadcast the stunning natural beauty and exciting tourist attractions of Far North Queensland to the global Paramount+ audience, but also foster new advantages for local businesses.
“Reality series like Aussie Shore engage a wide range of services and suppliers, including tourism operators, local guides, catering, security, hospitality, transport and accommodation. This production will also highlight the region’s culinary scene, nightlife and adventure activities to new international markets.”
While principal photography will largely be on location, cameras will roll at Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns and the series will also utilise the facility’s production offices, post facilities and more.
“We are excited to be officially opening Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns later this week, and to have a production already confirmed demonstrates the significant interest in North and Far North Queensland as a filming destination of choice,” Ms Feeney said.
“Our studio facility will ensure that the region has a strong base for producing homegrown stories as well as building a pipeline of projects attracted from interstate and internationally that, over time, will create more long-term career paths for locally based screen practitioners.”
Daniel Monaghan, Senior Vice President Content and Programming, Paramount Australia, said that “Cairns and Far North Queensland are the perfect setting to deliver a distinctly Australian take on this much-loved global reality hit.
“The region’s mix of iconic locations, unique experiences, skilled local crew, capable businesses and suppliers, as well as key infrastructure like the new studios, makes it the ideal place for our production of Aussie Shore that will be unforgettably entertaining for local and international reality TV fans on Paramount+.”
Screen Queensland Studios, Cairns will officially open on Wednesday 24 April. Its development was motivated by increased demand from local, national and international productions to be made in the unique and spectacular North and Far North Queensland region.
With construction now completed by Cairns-based Richard Field Constructions, the $12.6 million complex offers a 1,070 sq metre sound stage, production offices, editing suites, sound recording studio, construction and wardrobe facilities, as well as an event space and creative tenancies.
Recent local productions include Tastes of the Tropics (with Screenworks, SBS Food and Cutting Edge as part of Screen Queensland’s North Queensland Regional Program), Love is in the Air starring Delta Goodrem, upcoming US feature film Wizards!, Stan Original drama Black Snow, SBS Food cooking and cultural series Strait to the Plate, ABC documentary series The Black Hand, feature documentary Beyond The Reef, reality series Australian Survivor: Blood V Water, Revealed: Reefshot, Emmy-winner Puff: Wonders of the Reef and romantic comedy Ticket to Paradise.
Why are we making such shit? Why do we idolise people acting like sex crazed morons? Also there goes the tourism if that’s the likes they want to attract.
I am an Australian living in Ireland and one of my colleagues said she recently watched Byron Baes on Netflix. It is cheap light entertainment to binge on a weekend. It and this new show are basically a less scripted Home and Away - which is also hugely popular.
And tourism being harmed? She said she wants to go to Australia soon after it.
No issue with P+ making an Aussie adaption (will surely be better than The Challenge & Love Boat) but really… Cairns!?
Go where the money is I guess.
It’s been a long time since I went clubbing. But I remember people saying cairns had a really good nightlife and a lot of travellers.
Been a while for me too, just seems like a sleepy place outside of summer. If production is only starting soon, I can’t imagine it will be too busy there as it starts to get cooler.
Not sure Cairns would be the same drawcard for international viewers either, say compared to Bondi or Gold Coast if they’re looking at this appealing to a broad overseas demographic.
Maybe it’ll be great, we’ll see.
Seems to be a good enough place to make the Aus version of Below Deck where the crew go out after each cruise.
And let’s hope no drunk idiots go swimming outside of the lagoon
Kudos to ten. They have had two significant challenges this year with their two biggest shows, in introducing new hosts on both celebrity and masterchef.
Celebrity was obviously a success with a seamless transition and now it seems like they have gotten it right with masterchef as well. Poh and the food critic (sorry I have forgotten her name) are very good choices, great on screen and engaging. The French guy looks promising as well. I know we are only two eps in but the producers of both shows have done well in what could easily have gone very pear shaped.
By the looks of it as well, there seems to be great chemistry between the hosts on the top gear Australia ads, so perhaps they have done it again with that one!
Maybe there’s a chance that they could give traitors another go with potentially a new host or location?!? Or please please please, big brother for the back end of the year!!!

What are the remaining reality shows for the second half of 2024?
Ummmm. TAR and shark tank is it I think.
What we know so far:
Amazing Race
Shark Tank
Thank God You’re Here
Taskmaster
Hunted
Dessert Masters
Dogs Behaving Badly
Impractical Jokers
Wheel of Fortune Australia
Bondi Rescue
Unnamed Robert Irwin series
To be decided
Gladiators
The Bachelors
The Masked Singer
New Todd Sampson Series
I hope they renew this one. The others are flops whilst this one at least has semi-decent production values and (on a personal level) is really engaging.
Hopefully they’ll be able to commission a few more shows to take them all the way to December so they can have no gaps in their programming unlike previous years.
Maybe put it over summer?
Yeah late November or early December so it gets a clear run without any major competition should help the show, or maybe even start the year with that instead of Gladiators or Bachelors.
