It was the same here in Sydney last night. The SD feed had nothing and HD feed had just the “HD” part of the watermark.
what happens in the DR is that Ten HD becomes SD (like when ONE became SD.) But these days, TEN HD is still broadcasting at 1080i and the picture is being upconverted… probably why it’s a worse looking picture.
@Lexington - why is so much primetime US content still in SD? Did they not have any foresight to know in the months leading up they were going HD?
The Delivery Room ?
From above (emphasis added by me)
Almost 3 months in since the launch of Ten HD, I notice none of the MasterChef ads are in HD, but the In-Program pop-up are. Wonder why there are still no native HD ads playing on a regular basis.
lack of HD edit suites probably. There is an upgrade in systems happening slowly so I hear.
hopefully next Saturday sees the RU in HD.
Should be.
One wonders why feud is still not native HD? Completely ridiculous.
One can only presume that it’s because Family Feud isn’t produced in native HD.
Would newer shows like Shark Tank and Gogglebox perhaps ever Survivor be in HD ?
Gogglebox was shown in HD for (well, most of) the recent series.
Not sure about Shark Tank and Survivor, but MasterChef is definitely shown in HD.
Shark tank is
Masterchef is
I noticed that Ten have obtained a 2.35:1 (?) version of Independence Day. I haven’t seen this version before.
Ten had a commercial agreement with Fox to screen it in preparation for the new sequel so maybe they provided them with that version?
I think it’s great when the commercial networks air movies in their original aspect ratio.
I agree. I’ve noticed more and more movies shown like this on all 3 FTA channels. Hopefully it will become the norm soon.
