I purposely got the cheaper version because I remember at the time 5g was still very limited where I was so i didn’t see the point in getting it. At the time I got it there was a guy i was working with who was still using a S7.
When do we think Apple will release the second generation of the AirPod Max? The current were released in December 2020. Surly it’s time for a new release.
I want to purchase the product but don’t want to purchase then the second generation is released a few months after.
I too would have been interested in these headphones had they
a. Not been so damn expensive ($900)
b. Been so heavily skewed towards iOS devices eg. Active Noise Cancellation can’t be turned off unless you’re using an iOS device
c. Didn’t have to pay an an extra $50 to use it wired
Tbh I only want them cause it’s Apple. Yes I am that person. Do I need them, no. Do I want them, yes.
I have an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch, AppleTV and AirPods.
Why not add something else to the collection ![]()
Do you have any non Apple products eg. Android/Google or Windows?
I have AirPods but I didn’t like the way Max sounded or sat on my head when I used them in store.
I’ve got the Sony overhead ones and they’re great (wh-1000xm4)
I’ll probably get the gen 6 ones later this year when presumably they are released and offload the 4s or use them as an office pair.
Yes. Google Home and use Windows for work (not my choice)
I have the XM3 version, they are great too, but I will also look at upgrading as apparently Sony release them every 2 years (the XM5 was released in 2022).
I also find I usually have to stretch the headband to reduce the clamping force as they are normally too tight on my head out of the box… the demo ones in store have already been stretched somewhat.
Can’t go wrong with the XM4. Got these. They’re fantastic.
Apple has announced some massive changes to the app store in the EU to comply with the Digital Markets Act.
With the release of iOS 17.4, developers will be able to sideload their own app stores and apps through means outside of the app store for the first time, which obviously Apple is saying will open up the devices to malware, fraud and scams, although they’re doing everything they can to still avoid this.
Not including my Apple Watch, my AirTags, my AirPods, my AirPods Max & my iPad Air 4 (the device which I am posting from), mainly see my previous posts on this area of the forum.
Excluding my above Apple products, I have a Samsung Freestyle projector, a Creality Ender V3 Neo 3D printer, a couple of Raspberry Pi’s, a HP laptop, mouse and printer, various Google devices (Pixel 6, Home Mini, Nest Doorbell, Nest Cam, Chromecast & Nest Hub), a Nintendo Wii, a Xbox One S: Minecraft special edition, a Nintendo Switch OLED, heaps of powerboards, automated Philips Hue lights, automated Luxaflex blinds and lots of other screens, headphones, keyboards and mice.
In terms of accessible tech, because I have cerebral palsy, I have various manual and powered wheelchairs, an electronic talking device, an Xbox Adaptive Controller and a van. Turns out I have so much technology.
room for one more?
ever since my ZFold 4 broke last year and i frantically had to get another phone (thankfully Telstra’s upgrade and protect saving me) i went back to iPhone.
there are some days I miss Android, and wish I stayed with Android, so I figured I would come back to Android, plus the S24U is such a beautiful phone, and the features look good
is yours planned to come earlier than expected? The Telstra rep said that Samsung is dispatching early in some cases
I’ve been following people on Whirlpool - a bunch have said it’s shipped but mine is still awaiting dispatch. Original shipping date was 29th so I expect it to still ship tomorrow.
I had a look at the new s24 series in JB yesterday - they look great. Definitely prefer the flat screens on the entire series now ![]()
What made you come back?
Somehow it was mentioned during 9 News last night that one telco (not sure who - Circles Life maybe?) is offering 650GB mobile data (though the Circles Life one is a limited time one).
Not sure who would really use that much cellular data, but it suggests to me that true unlimited mobile data (with no throttling) is not too far off.
I’ve had a Samsung phone for more than ten years. In the latest update they’ve decided to change the fonts and the new fonts are hideous.
Firstly, whatever this new font is, it’s like a step backwards in time. The last font was modern and fresh. The clock on my lock screen in default us ugly bold and smaller than before. I can’t even choose the old font if I want to customise it.
Secondly, the emails in the Samsung emails app look the same whether they read or unread. The difference between bold for unread and no bold for read wast stark before but indistinguishable now.
Don’t they test these things? Why do they have to “fix” things that aren’t broken?
I’ve noticed the font changed too after getting the Android 14 (One UI 6) update on my S21 Ultra. Lock screen clock looks quite ugly, and unnecessarily big now imo.
Only thing I like is the redesigned quick options menu.
You can download Good Lock from the Galaxy Store (not the Play Store) f you want to customise your lock screen.
Yeah. I hate it more and more. I want to smash my phone against the wall now. ![]()
I looked online and there’s thousands of people saying how much they hate the update and the new fonts.
