Amit Yoran, CEO of the cybersecurity firm Tenable, called it “the single biggest, most critical vulnerability of the last decade” — and possibly the biggest in the history of modern computing.
The first obvious signs of the flaw’s exploitation appeared in Minecraft, a Microsoft online game hugely popular with children.
Mr Meyers and security expert Marcus Hutchins said Minecraft users were already using it to execute programs on the computers of other users by pasting a short message in a chat box.
Microsoft said it had issued a software update for Minecraft users.
While I’m not necessarily condoning the downloading of copyrighted material via torrent, this isn’t the early 2000s and torrenting is not Kazaa/Limewire.
Oh yes, not to mention 56k dial up and tiny 14 inch CRT monitors, RAM measured in MB and storage was at a premium (meaning burning to CDs to free up HDD space)!
There are also several automation tools available that manage the process and make it basically hands off (yes I know what they are, no I wont tell you)
Memo don’t buy a wallet case and put your credit cards in any way - my phone screen still got scratched with them in the “correct” way ie
with the raised numbers facing away from the screen.
Whilst my phone isn’t brand new - 18 months old - still not happy
I still prefer using card, to be honest, but its nice to have it convenience (Android Pay) for when I leave the card at home. So I use a bit of both, plus cash for when I need extra support in my coffee addiction.
Yeah I am your mum like that too! That’s what I do, I have my DL, bank cards and library card in there and managed to fit a coffee card in mine.
