The only thing more surprising is that GB News has outlasted this.

It hasn’t, GB News is still going. TalkTV moving to a streaming model similar to NBC News Now.

I was far too distracted while typing that and minced my words, thanks.

Wasn’t Talk TV always set up for streaming?

TalkTV (and GB News) are FAST channels on YouTube and some other FAST platforms. It will still be around after it closes the linear channels.

I think GB News will eventually go the same way as Talk. They could easily spin an online-only move as them ‘escaping the YOKE of the WOKE Ofcom CENSORS!’.

OFCOM still covers radio, of which both broadcast to.

I think GB will come off radio as well. Labour are almost certainly going to form the next government and so hopefully OFCOM will grow some balls and do something about the nonsense on GB News. Talk was a radio station before and it’s just going back to that.

Or probably switch to a subscription model where you may have to pay a few pounds a pop to watch Nigel Farage, JRM, Patrick Christys and possibly BoJo when he eventually appears on the channel.

Good call. They already have a subscription service:

TalkTV closes on 30 April. They have already moved back into the radio studios. Going forward it will just be called “Talk” and return to being a radio station with cameras in the studio.

Are you sure that’s correct?

The way it’s been reported is the over the air channel will be turned off and it will be a streaming news channel only - just like NBC News Now for example.

It wil still be available via Samsung tv plus, YouTube, Roku, amazing fire etc. just not over the air

My understanding was they were reverting to the same format before the big push into tv - it’s essentially a radio station that’s also video streamed
