They should move it before News Desk, then find something edgier for 9pm.
Itās too light, the subjects are all wrong.
Seems to be what they on the rest of the day though too - hard out at roughly :57 and restart on the hour (with top-of-hour newsā¦ flagship shows seem different, they want to at least start them on the hour, hence their ā9pmā news at the end of Piers at ~8.55).
Sounds like they still have advertising commitments for TalkRadio in the lead-up to the top of the hourā¦ probably more signs of āradio firstā at this stage.
On the other hand, I wonder if they still have the IRN/Sky News Radio contract on the radio station outside of the flagship hoursā¦ the news bulletin I peeked into then (at 8am BST) seemed āradio-ableā on the news side but then the weather spot had a social media video and ālook at thisā of a hailstorm or somethingā¦ ālook at thisā doesnāt really work on radio as we all know.
But that smells of āthree minutes of ads, two minutes of IRN bulletin + weather, a couple minutes more of radio adsā on the radio, until TalkTV joins back up at :05 for the next hour of TalkRadio simulcast.
But I also canāt see an IRN/Sky bulletin being on the radio in the long term if they are doing TV on-the-hour seemingly inhouse. Hmmā¦
Piers was #1 in its timeslot again of all the news channels. News channels donāt rate that high. Visualised radio doesnāt cost anymore than it did just as radio so as a revenue stream itās not like itās expensive.
But thats only for the 20-odd hours a day of programming outside of UK āprimetimeā - both Piers and Sharon Osborneās programs would be commanding significantly greater cost then the rest of the content (probably combined).
You can somewhat accept a zero outside of these big shows knowing that the TV numbers arenāt the full reach
TalkTV got themselves one of the Tory Leader debates basically thanks to their association with The Sun. Having lost one host already to a positive covid test earlier it came to a half tonight after half an hour when the host fainted off screen.
Kyle will take over from Morgan on flagship Uncensored for a five-week period up to September 5 while Morgan films a new series of his true crime documentary and ātakes a well-earned vacation,ā according to Talk TV.
Definitely not well-earned. Heās only been doing it a couple of months and heās been absent from shows already.
Its Summer holidays in the UK at the moment - canāt be that surprised heās buggered off for a break given everyone else has
Heās already done a month longer than he would have at GMB over the summer.
How is TalkTv covering the Queens death?
They were live from 6.30pm for the announcement with Piers and a mixture of programs that evening, then back to radio overnight.
Then 6am - 10pm Friday they were live with TV presentation from Piers studio all day with different presenters.
Live 7-10pm on Saturday night
New TalkTV sets
A rebrand happening soon? The media vertical of right-wing political blog Guido Fawkes is reporting TalkTV could be renamed The Sun TV (sic) very soon, complete with red-top logo and a more ānewsyā agenda, with Jeremy Kyle having recorded some after-break bumpers and promos in the last few days.
Tom Newton Dunn has left TalkTV and News UK. He had been off-air since last June.
