Talkin' 'Bout Your Generation

They would most likely have Voice at 7:30

I’m not so sure. The Voice would be in Live Shows by then meaning it would only air once a week (Sundays)

Either way it goes for an hour and a half so will likely go long. Don’t understand why they aren’t airing on Tuesdays

Yes - that’s the name used on the show.

Right, I’m out! Why continue to destroy our language. Will see how many complaints go through to the Channel Nine switchboard - unless Shaun wants to ring up and complain about his own show, that was the last thing he did when he was last on Nine.

And this comes after he just took the piss on Mad As Hell for the way people have started pronouncing “new” now. Slamming them for doing it the American way “noo” instead of the Australian way “nioo”.

This show ended up failing on Ten, towards the end. Why put it against another comedy game show?

Seems like it is.

Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation is back

Monday 21 May at 7.30pm

Australia’s favourite hour of inter-generational laughs is back –Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, led by host Shaun Micallef, launches on Monday, May 21, at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now.

Your Gen is a riotous weekly biffo between three of our most alphabetically delinquent generations – Gen X, Gen Y and Gen Z.

Host Shaun Micallef has been a mainstay of Australian television for 25 years, starring in Full Frontal, The Micallef Programme, SeaChange, Welcher & Welcher, Micallef Tonight, BlackJack, Newstopia, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, Mr & Mrs Murder, Stairway to Heaven, The Ex-PM and the award-winning Mad as Hell.

Leading Gen X, the most senior generation in this current season, is prolific content creator Robyn Butler. Robyn co-created and produced the award-winning comedy The Librarians for ABC TV, in which she also starred. She also co-wrote and produced the lauded comedies Very Small Business, Upper Middle Bogan and Little Lunch, which was a finalist in the International Emmy Kids Awards 2018.

Andy Lee steps up as captain of Gen Y. Andy, together with Hamish Blake, hosted one of the most successful radio programs in the last decade on the HIT Network. A stream of successful seasons of their global Gap Year expedition on the Nine Network secured their status as superstars of the Australian entertainment landscape. In 2017, they debuted their acclaimed TV series, True Story with Hamish and Andy, with the second series coming to Nine in 2018.

Introducing Gen Z to the world is 21-year-old Laurence Boxhall who made his television debut in the teen series The Worst Year of My Life … Again and was seen in Michael Rymer’s critically acclaimed Deadline Gallipoli for Foxtel/Matchbox Pictures. This was followed by series one and two of Ronny Chieng: International Student and the feature Mormon Yankees: The Spirit of the Game.

In week one our team captains are joined by entertainer Eddie Perfect, comedian Kate McClennan and actor Brenna Harding as they press their noses to the mindstone. Will their lips deceive them or follow their ears to victory? Tune in to find out on Monday, May 21, at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now. Cue music!

They must know Masterchef usualy runs till 9pm most nights

Interested to see the scheduled program length!

It’s no different than 60 Minutes not actually running for strictly 60 minutes anymore

Was this show filmed before or after Mad as Hell?

These “new” episodes were filmed way back in October last year. Ridiculous that they are only making it to air in Q2 of 2018. Tuesday night would have been a better fit for the show as well rather than Mondays.

Confirmed that Australia’s favourite hour is scheduled for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Seems to be how commercial TV treats the 7.30 time slot these days.

The new opening theme to the show has been posted to Facebook this morning…

oh god…thats terrible

So they found someone for team Gen Y that has the exact same fake accent as Josh Thomas?

I was in the audience last year and it sounds just as bad as I remembered. I’m surprised they aren’t just using the familiar tune, so one can only assume Channel Ten still holds the rights to that?

I tried editing the old song onto these new titles and it is already a massive improvement!!
