New York vs Los Angeles
I was nearly going to mention that, though they are a lot further apart.
Seven Sydney running with this tonight
Do many holidaymakers really fly all the way to Australia and just visit Sydney and leave?
Regardless of which city is the draw, Iâd hope people go to more than just Sydney after flying 10-15 hours.
Iâm sure they do, we are that far away that itâs kind of like going to another planet for some!
Though this suggests they are more likely to go up to Queensland than Melbourne.
Karina Carvalhoâs chat with Melbourne Editor at Time Out, Leah Glynn, during todayâs Seven News at 4.
Melbourne 6th
Sydney 7th
Not bad for our two big boys.
Which is why it feels meaningless.
Especially meaningless when they call San Francisco a heavy weight as a liveable city⌠![]()
Canberra is #1 for âQuality Of Lifeâ but is the worst Australian city in the âEnvironmentâ category. Drilling into this a bit further, the index takes into account vulnerability to climate change, air quality, and responses to mitigating climate change among other things.
Notably, Los Angeles (air pollution) and Miami (hurricane prone) have much better Environment scores than each Australian city which is questionable, despite Australiaâs vulnerabilities. Something I do agree with are the high rankings for NZ cities in the Environment category, though Iâd put Auckland (9th) well below Christchurch (8th) and Wellington (5th) due to its vulnerability to extreme rain events.
Brisbane has a much better Environment score than Canberra; if climate vulnerability is the main factor, Brisbane should fare the worst imo. Melbourne has the best Environment scoreâŚHobart would win in a canter but isnât included. I question Melbourne too as itâs vulnerable to drought and air pollution.
Reykjavik has a ridiculously poor Environment score too compared to the rest of the Nordics. What are they taking into account here- volcanic eruptions?
Lookout! The Greenies will be onto you if you do any drilling in the environment! ![]()
I think itâs great a whole thread is devoted to Sydney v Melbourne.
Iâll freely admit I wasnât even going to bother to watch the game if it were not for the hype generated by this thread.
Anyway, when it comes to Naarm, they beat the Lions last week, and are at home, so you would think would have the edgeâŚ
But in the Sydney vs Melbourne rivalryâŚ
Iâll go the Swans by two goals.
Thereâs a few good matchups this round. With where the Swans and Demons are both at this season, I think itâs very winnable for either of them.
Youâre right. Itâs anyoneâs game. Even though neither of them are anywhere on the ladder, I think itâll be a great match.
Heeney and Warner played out of their skins last week. And if the Dees are anything like they were last week, it should go right down to the wire.
Sydneyâs first ever home game at the SCG was against the Dees. Itâs a nice little ârivalryâ.
The Roosters and Storm also have a nice little ârivalryâ.
HEAD-TO-HEAD ITâS 44 TO 27 in favor of Sydney since 1980.
The great thing is thereâll be plenty of South Melbourne fans there tomorrow. Heaps. And thatâs the great thing about this Sydney v Melbourne rivalry, two establishment clubs.
Cheer cheer the red and the white
NRL Is To Sydney What AFL Is To Melbourne.
