“We want players who are also excited to be on it,” Probst explains. “This is not Winners at War . It doesn’t mean we don’t want players who are going to play hard. Of course we do. But it means we’re also big-picture trying to celebrate 25 years, and that means joyful players who are in a good mood and want to play. We’re not looking for disgruntled players looking to settle a score. We’re looking for players who want a second chance, who have something to prove to themselves.”

Survivor 48 premieres on CBS on February 26 next year (so February 27 on 9GO!).

Season 48 will kick off with a two-hour premiere on February 26, followed by 90-minute episodes throughout the season.

I’m thinking all that will really mean is that the second last episode and what would usually be the first hour of the finale are the first week, with a shorter than usual finale the second week.

I am really enjoying this season especially since the merge. So many people have been completely blindsided, I like a few of the players and it feels like the game is really open to anyone at this point. I think I’m going for Sam the most at this point.

I can’t believe how unlikeable I found Teeny this week. Wow, she was just so up herself to be honest. So smug. But good to see the smugness disappear when she saw what happened. Hope she goes next.

Any why are the jury all so damn sour this season? Not one of them has cracked a smile. What’s the deal with that? I thought Kyle might have broken the pattern but he was just as bad, looking all sad and wronged. They’re coming across as really bad losers IMO.

I feel there has been an arrogance with them all season. Their game hasn’t been good for a lot of it. I feel like they have flipped, flopped and not really found a place in the side. Yet they want people to respect their game. They have got there out of luck not good game.

I agree. I’ve enjoyed some of the tribals but they all seem to overrate their games. I didn’t really like Genevieve at first but at least she shows a little bit of humility from time to time. And Sam admits he’s useless at immunity challenges. And up until last night I didn’t mind Teeny but wow something went to her head. She was embarrassing. And Caroline was the first one to show a bit of grace when voted out.

Yeah Teeny’s comments about Sam definitely were extremely immature. She came across as such a man hater too with some of her comments about him back at camp. I liked her earlier on but she has become such a useless and unlikeable player. I love how she made out how stupid he was for taking Andy, when ultimately it led to making her look stupid.

This week really was one of the best episodes of the new era. Such perfectly executed strategy. It was amazing to watch the 3 all play their part to pull that one off. I really would like to see Sam or Genevieve win. Andy has moved up the ranks but I think his chances of winning are low because the jury perceive him as a flipper. Even after the vote they showed someone on the jury go “Andy flipped again?”.

I agree with all your comments.

I’m really surprised that strategy played out so perfectly. It was impressive.

I actually think Sam’s strategic game has been ok. And although Andy flips and flops he is usually on the right side of the vote. Personally I think one of those two deserve to win.

Yes to both. Sam has played a good strategic game given where he’s at. If he was better in immunity challenges he’d be a real chance.

Sam is probably my overall favorite this season. Pre-merge he got a lot of airtime and he has had more confessionals this season than any of the other contestant remaining, so I reckon there’s a good chance he makes it to the end.

Sam and Genevieve are also the only contestants left that have eliminated every person that they’ve cast a vote for which would make a strong jury pitch if they make it there. So even though they have felt on the bottom for a little while, they have both always been on the right side of the vote. I really would love to see one of them win and they are probably both a good shot at returning for season 50.

I also feel like Sue is a guaranteed F3 contestant that gets 0 votes in the end. I can’t see any reason why anyone would want to take her out unless she can make some big move with her Idol next week but she will probably just play it on herself unnecessarily.
