I personally can’t see anyone but Rachel winning, she is getting a winners edit imo.
Seems that way, but I hope not. Can’t stand her.
Rachel winning in a landslide didn’t seem right to me. Sam made some solid points and I think he won the final tribal.
I couldn’t agree more. I was shocked he only got one vote. I’m not sure Rachel really deserved it, at least not the landslide. I even thought at one point Teeny might be leaning towards Sam.
I thought Sam should have won but wasn’t surprised with the one-sided vote on a very dull season final. I suspect that producers made it look like Sam had more of a chance in the final tribal that he did. Disappointing winners are much more common with this new age of Survivor. I find that the season is really tarnished for me when this happens.
Comes down to the jury. This season’s had virtually no tough questions and was quite disappointing from that point of view. At least Kyle gave Sam one vote meaning he got second place - perhaps the jury agreed on that so Sue didn’t tie for second?
I’m not really upset she won but he had a point when she was on the wrong side of the vote more times than any other. And she had so much luck. I think the big thing she had was being a challenge beast. Personally I think Sam played a much better game than she did.
I agree Sam played a better game and she did have a lot of luck. I would have preferred him to win. Although to be fair he was pretty useless in challenges, which kind of surprised me for an athletic guy. If he’d managed to even win one immunity challenge his resume would have looked better. But he was just bad at them.
I completely agree. Sam was really impressive in the final Tribal Council. He made some great points particularly that he voted correctly every Tribal (there was just that one TC he couldn’t vote in), where Rachel was out of the loop for a lot of the season and relied on advantages that were pretty much handed to her (like in an auction clue and being sent on the journey).
I don’t think Rachel is undeserving but it was a little disappointing Sam didn’t at least receive a couple more votes to be a solid runner up. I think from a jury’s perspective they were impressed with the way that Rachel came from being a non-threat to a threat that they couldn’t get out later in the game. Most had made up their mind coming into Tribal. I think Sam at least convinced some to consider him but ultimately, they had made up their mind.
The best moment of the episode was Sam beating Teeny in the fire though! I really could not stand her.
I saw Sam post that he was quite sick for a few days later in the game with a really bad fever around the Andy/Genevieve vote out stage. It’s why he told Genevieve not to take him on that reward that she won as he would throw all the food up. So if he wasn’t so unwell maybe he would have been able to pull out another. A lot of the earlier post merge challenges are very endurance based too so it’s not usually the fittest people that are the best at them.
I absolutely couldn’t stand Teeny either. She is one of the most immature players I can ever recall. Whatever was “triggering” her was just baffling. The last episode when Sam said something to Rachel about him making fire, she just flipped out. I still have no idea why, it was nothing to do with her at all. She was just weird and annoying.
Apparently Tweeny participated in a fan version of the game in Philly. I think they just felt she was this amazing player. Too much arrogance for my liking.
May be of interest to Survivor fans.
Over two decades after Fairplay used his grandma’s (fake) death as a means to avoid elimination — one of the most infamous moments in reality TV history — the longtime Survivor villain revealed Ellen Jean Hauser’s actual death at the age of 90.
A little inaccurate. He didn’t do it to avoid elimination rather to win the reward challenge.
I’m looking forward to this. I find I don’t take much from the pre-season promos anymore (they all feel a bit the same) but the new era has finally found it’s groove the past couple of seasons. Hopefully this one continues to deliver.
‘Survivor 50’ will allow fans to vote on putting key elements into game
For Survivor 50, which will begin filming in a few months and will start airing in Feb. 2026, producers and CBS are putting the season “in the hands of the fans.” Quite literally as that is the official title. Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans. But it’s not just a title: Viewers will also be able to vote in a series of categories that will determine the course of what unfolds on the island.
The first round of voting will commence during the Survivor 48 premiere on Feb. 26, and fans will be able to vote on a special website. There will then be additional voting categories added throughout the spring leading up to filming on the season. Some of the decisions fans will be in charge of include: “Idols or No Idols,” “Final Four Fire Making: Keep It or Lose It” and “Live Finale and Reunion Show in L.A. – or Keep the Winner Reveal and Aftershow in the Jungles of Fiji.” However, none of the results will be revealed to the actual contestants until they are on the island playing the game. (Sneaky!)
this needs to happen, for such a milestone, we need to have something big.
Pretty sure 50’s filming is due to commence in the winter with 49 being filmed in May, so not too long for us to know the answer (presuming they update us on what the results are).
Would love to get some ideas here of what should come back or be turfed?
They won’t reveal the results at least until the season starts being promoted. Jeff has done some videos on this and the idea is that the players go in not knowing what things have been voted on. Which makes the game extremely unpredictable.
It will be interesting to see what other things will be voted on other than the ones mentioned, as Jeff said more will be added throughout48. Maybe some iconic challenges? Wgat sort of advantages? I wonder if they’ll consider season themes like Exile Island, Redemption Island, Edge of Extinction vs more recent ones like Journeys (Exile I wouldn’t be opposed too ok but wouldn’t wantothers that involve returnees).
At the core I’d like to see a F2 again and 2 tribes. I don’t like the idea of No idols at all but I’d like to see Idols limited to 2-3 all season.
