MTV seems good at casting the most dislikable characters their reality shows. Real World has featured some thoroughly horrible people. I think that the strategy employed i.e, total antagonism to the other contestants and win at all costs was not the correct approach to take. So much of the million dollars has been wasted on petty point scoring, extreme personal attacks and revenge purchases.
The use of drones is one thing that Survivor producers could take from the show.
Nice blindside last night. Debbie was entertaining but is absolutely bonkers and clueless about the game. It’s always good when someone who is becoming cocky about their position gets knocked down like that. Debbie must be hating the fact that Aubrey has outlasted her in the two seasons that they’ve played together, given the two are pretty bitter rivals. Got to give Aubrey a bit of credit for convincing Sarah to switch on that vote too.
Also great that Sarah was able to pull of that move without using that advantage. Hopefully she can make good use of it at an upcoming Tribal. Now time to knock out the likes of Sierra and Culpepper hopefully!
That whole drama with Cirie and not being able to complete the challenge was so pathetic. It’s not as if she continued to desperately try to complete it until the other team won - she in effect gave up at one point while the challenge was still live. Jeff needs to lay off the “social experiment” stuff, they milked this non-event for all it was worth last night. You can just tell Cirie / Michaela will be winning here…
I liked how Michaela was nibbling on food throughout the vote-reading, looking totally relaxed and cool about it. It’s a pity she’s so disliked by the others that they are nearly ready to vote her out for no other reason. I hope somehow she can get to the end.
Good riddance Debbie after being so cock-sure you had it parceled up.
Milked what non-event? Not sure what you were talking about. In regards to Cirie at the challenge I think it’s more of the case that she’s such a fan favourite and got limited airtime pre-merge (due to not going to a single tribal council) that this was something more relatable to highlight from her. She’s the same old Cirie who was never great at individual challenges but still fights on.
She didn’t get fucked by fire making. It was in the rules. Even though it was possibly the first time they did it, she knew going to a tie at the F4 was going to take it to fire making.
I would have thought that could be a reason to take Michaela to the end. If everyone finds her so annoying that’s a good person to take F3.
Well last night’s vote was stupid and it was a shame to see Zeke go. Those guys finally got themselves in a good spot and should have waited at least another vote before turning on each other. Now there is definitely going to be a fallout from that and the game will turn on it’s head.
At this stage though Sarah and Andrea seem to be in good spots and being shown as the key players making moves (whether smart or stupid, they are making them). I would like to see one of them win this season. Both of them were pretty under the radar until a couple of weeks ago but I feel both are getting a strong edit now. Andrea seems to be dominating challenges too. Also I much prefer Sierra now that she has been knocked down a notch, I wouldn’t mind it if she moved her way back into the game now.
Also has anyone else noticed the contestants seem to be struggling a lot more to previous seasons? We don’t see a lot of it but it
Nah it wasn’t - They made him feel comfortable, told the others Tai would be it (or Sierra). They voted for their own and took the bait. As we know Tai flips all the time (or used to), I think the six did that to have a trusting ally in Tai and booting off someone who could take you out later
I dislike Sarah, but maybe I should, since she’s playing like a criminal.
If Andrea continues to win, god damn she could very well win.
Yeah weird they haven’t done any strategic stuff which could make it an awesome season, I want some throwing Rice in the fire sorta stuff come on now!!!
Damn it! I knew that they got rid of Andrea one vote too early… that female alliance has completely crumbled now.
I loved the move that Cirie tried to pull even if it completely backfired. Good on her for trying to make a memorable gameplay and that was typical Cirie. She is always there and willing to do something but execution is a but sloppy haha. I’ve heard interviews from Jeff Probst and he says that they never expected anything like that to happen, and he sounded like he kind of regrets making it ‘non-transferrable’. You can see how she made that mistake though as you can hand over Idols to others so why couldn’t you hand over an advantage?
Sarah seems to be playing the hardest game for sure. Is she a worthy winner or has she burnt too many people? Time will tell but I think she can beat most of the remaining people apart from maybe Cirie.
Also devo that Michaela went like that. Sarah took revenge by taking out Cirie’s closest ally. Ouch.
Wow there have been rumours of a historic tribal this season and looks like it’s happening. There is actually the possibility at top 6 that all 3 immunity idols are played, Sarah’s legacy advantage is used and someone else could be immune from the challenge, leaving one person to go by default.
I still don’t get why both Tai and Troyzan have sat with their Idol’s so comfortably all of this time. They have been on the bottom for weeks and there have been at least 2 Tribals where Tai was really at risk, including last night where he is lucky Sarah voted how she did or he would have been a goner.
Tai plays an aggressive game by finding Idols but makes so many stupid mistakes and lacks a social game. I think if he makes it to the end he won’t get many votes. Though I noticed they focused on Aubrey and Tai talking about wanting to make moves this episide. I wonder if that succumbs to anything.
Because the producers don’t show us 95% of what happens. It’s at a point where you can’t even understand what’s happening any more. Why would Tai not use his idol last night? It doesn’t even make sense.
Legit the fucken editors are trying to make everything a blindside, like come on . If Cirie doesn’t win (or Aubry), it would’ve been one of the worst seasons we’ve had (ranking up there with One World).
Aubry - One of the strongest strategists, can do a mean puzzle (I didn’t really like her or got much of the hype until I saw that puzzle last episode).
Troyzan - he hasn’t done shit all this game, or the last game he played. I keep forgetting he’s still around
Tai - crumbles under pressure and finds the easiest placed idols. He’s a slimy snake who didn’t do much last season except be just that. Up there with Sierra and Ciera as being the most over hyped players ever.
Sarah - She wants to play like a criminal but what has she been doing?
Culpepper - Cocky as shit and has to play like his wife did (or he wants to play like her).
Cirie - She can win this, she’s pulled the moves and made others think they’re in control.
Also Everyone but Aubry and Cirie are like 'LETS MAKE BIG MOOOOOVESSSS!!!11!!!" like shit, one big move won’t make you win, controlling the game from a subtle standpoint will. Sandra didn’t make many big moves but she won twice.
This is why you don’t have a “overrated people vs. actual legends season”. Like goddamn, Zeke, Debbie, Sarah, Troyzan, Tai, Caleb, Sierra, Ceira shouldn’t have been cast this season (or they coulda been early boots).
The problem is these double boot eps. If a season has 18 or 20 on the cast they have to fill the same number of episodes so we annoyingly get left with rushed final 2 episodes. Although no matter how much they showed this ep Tai was still the target and would have gone had Cirie’s plan not backfired. There wasnt much more they could have shown us as to why Tai didn’t play his Idol as it all changed last minute. He must just have guts.
Thankfully though rumours seem like next season is a 3 tribe theme so should be back to an 18 person cast. So hopefully means no double boot and back to a final 5.
I disagree. Personally I think this season had one of the best pre-merges I can remember in a Survivor season (a couple too many twists that backfired on good players but loved watching Malcolm/Sandra etc play pretty hard early on). Yeah we definitely had a bit of a lull for 2 or 3 weeks since the merge but I’m really back into it after Thursdays episode. I would say overall it has not been the best but not the worst season either. The main problem has been that all the strong and exciting players left early. It now heightens even more how good Heroes vs Villains was as the good players made it to the end. I’m still pretty excited about this rumoured ‘historic’ tribal council next week.
For me Sarah and Cirie are the only worthy winners. If either is at the end I think they will win as Brad/Troyzan/Tai havnt really done anything the last few weeks. Aubrey is hard to tell. She was a fave of mine coming into this season but has played it pretty safe and been edited a bit under the radar. Although I get the feeling she is well liked by the jury so if they are bitter towards somone like Sarah she could slip through and take the win.
This is actually All Stars 2.0 - After the Sue/Hatch shitstorm, the season became terrible.
The part where Cirie nearly pulled off an ‘Erik 2.0’ would’ve really made me happy, but no the producers try fuck her over (again).
This is what happens when they devote most of their time trying to make terrible players look good (FFGCFLAHJMSDT, I’m looking at you). They put make us forget about the good players (I’m pretty sure Aubry didn’t get a confessional for a few episodes, and had a kinda invisible edit).
Out of interest, what has Sarah done in this game, that would solidify her being a worthy winner.
I was really hyped for this season but now it seems kinda an effort to watch. I’m just happy next season is 18 players, all newbies too.
She has made moves such as ditching the comfortable 6 person alliance to rid of Debbie which changed the direction of the game. She has found advantages and played such a strong social game to the point that the person that she voted out still gave her another advantage. She also single handedly got rid of Michaela on the last vote. Yes she has flip flopped a lot but she has pretty much been the only person on the right side of every vote since the merge. Nobody has been more influential. She is playing hard and playing to win.
I’m more gobsmacked that you think Aubrey is a strong player and Sarah isn’t. Don’t get me wrong I love Aubrey (mostly herclast season) but this season the only real gameplay she made was help convince Sarah to flip at the Debbie vote. Otherwise shes been playing it safe.
