At first I thought he was straight. But congratulations to him
It’s amazing to see this to be honest. Historically presenters would be discouraged in saying anything that relates to their sexuality. The fact that now he could publicly say this on a high rating news program shows such courage and as well support by his bosses.
There are still many today who won’t acknowledge it on air or in general and go to extreme lengths to prevent anything that suggests it. At the end of the day it’s personal and it shouldn’t need to be shouted from the rooftops, but also having to suppress yourself if you see it as a career risk is awful.

It is also significant and important for this to be acknowledged in a normal and mainstream way in the media, as it encourages broader society to move forward with the times.

Agree. Regardless it shouldn’t matter and isn’t a “risk” to the network. Let people be people, it’s when you segregate and make a song and dance about it is when it becomes a problem - in the sense that you are creating it being an issue.

Not sure how much of an impact there’ll be on him, given he works amongst a range of screens, and would be using a computer throughout the day for his job.

Did they give a cause of death?
He did have a cancer a few years ago and lost hair as a result of treatment but seemed to be fine in recent times.
A great mix of different camera work this morning, nice opener, keeping things fresh, the jib work was very dynamic.
