But not Woi and Shirvo.
It’d be so interesting to see how the audience would react to that.

Katie Brown part of the team today too. 7 continuing their coverage of NRL events; they’re obviously very keen to be part of the next tv rights.
Ah no. Seven is only for AFL and Nine is only for NRL. They can’t brag another tv sport contract

Once in 2002, Mel called in sick last minute so Reaso hosted the early portion solo then Kochie (who was finance presenter at the time) co-costed the back end of the show.

I thought the story selection this morning was a bit weird. I might be looking into it a bit deep, but just IMO.
I think zero mention of the French Open final, even in the sport reports, despite it concluding a mere hour or so before the show, a major global sport event and the sport’s popularity in Australia, especially given Zverev’s first victory. We know they don’t have any tennis rights anymore and don’t like to publicise rivals’ sports, I’d hope it’s not this, but they (especially ATN news) do have form, frequently previously and still do go to lengths to source unofficial feeds so Nine’s watermarks aren’t visible.
Also I thought they’d try to lean-in to Melbourne a bit more, with the public holiday and Big Freeze, especially with Neale Daniher’s recent passing making it more significant. And the network hosts the telecast later in the day.
While they did feature a few segments on Big Freeze including Sam Mac’s weather crosses, I found Sunrise this morning rather irrelevant to a lot of this and still a bit Sydney-centric, even leading news and post-news half hours with that.
I just feel the production crew, which we know was overhauled a few years back, are very much NSW minded and closeted in that mindset, regardless of being a national show and should appeal to all corners of Australia and have local content. Only logical reason I could think would be to ensure they remain No. 1 rated in Sydney and it’s just about the only consistent rater for the station/ATN in the market.

It included Eddy saying “No doubt One Nation has some great candidates around the country.” Then when Plibersek accused Barnaby of always talking over women, Eddy gave Barnaby the ‘final word’. It wasn’t worse but it was hardly better.
Interesting on today’s Hot Topics.. the blond female commentator, I can’t recall her name though she’s a regular. Always very right leaning. She basically admitted he bias today.
When commenting on Albo’s stance against the Vic Premier being labelled a “witch”, she said “as much as I hate to agree with him (Albo)…” This was just after she had finished saying it shouldn’t be personal about the person, it should be policies you criticise.
