I think in this day and age it’s highly unlikely. Shirvo already has a sporting background so it would just be natural for him to present the sports headlines in conjunction with hosting the show.

It’s a shame, because Katie Brown would be great in the role. Instead, she is a bit of this and that with no real consistency or regularity.
It is possible she is casual as well only brought in as needed as she used to be in Sunrise far more regularly and her role extends beyond sport. I don’t see it as an issue Shirvo is perfectly competent and it has worked fine with him doing it for the last year.

I find it awkward having Shirvo read the sport. I liked the old Sunrise family with four at the desk and lounge. IMO, having that fourth person led to better dialogue at the desk and more of a ‘family’ feel.

In Wa we don’t see Shirvo reading the sport.
With the Sunrise Perth News, the National sport report during the news is not seen in Wa.

I thought Delta was a Nine Gal…
People aren’t signed up to particular networks these days unless they’re doing multiple shows. Delta just does a Christmas special that Nine screens. That’s it.

The major announcement teased in the promo was the November release of Delta’s album Pure. There was some speculation that Delta would reveal an Australian tour during this morning’s chat.
Which had already been announced before.

Woi is back after 6 weeks.
Mon said they will reveal where he’s been just before 8.00. Woi said a “special project.”
They briefly discussed the rumours about his absence in the opener including “Waking up with Today.” Lol

We would have heard if DWTS was coming back. Plus, he would have been able to work weekends, even if he was in training.
Since the absence was planned, you would have thought they could have done better to get someone to cover most if not all of the absence. It changed every weekend and Larry hadn’t done it in years. It didn’t feel very organised (and probably made the viewers notice David’s absence more).
The opener for David’s return was fun though. Even the V/O played along..
