Both Seven and Nine have been “sly and petty” in their breakfast ratings catfight. What’s so ‘great’ about it is every ratings claim in the foreseeable future made by either network will be subjected to the same treatment…
Some ridiculous celebration this morning for the Cash Cow, who has given away $13 million in 7-8 years. They are going OTT with this, red carpet, limo, Cash Cow highlights, studio audience…
they finally give some attention to a female presenter, and it’s OTT? Kochie has had his own segments for years!
No objections from me about the Aussiebum guys
Agreed
According to Quest Newspapers the ‘undies hero’ who, in his undies, chased an alleged drunk driver who crashed into a shop at Hendra then provided a colourful account on breakfast TV was paid for his appearance on Sunrise.
The “top Aussie bloke” cashed in on his new-found fame, with a bidding war between breakfast TV heavyweights Nine and Seven to get the undie-clad hero on TV.
The two stations made offers into the thousands for an exclusive.
It is understood the father-of-four was wooed by the chance to go live with Sunrise host David Koch
It wasn’t exactly exclusive though
All networks had images from the night before - guessing there must be a pool cameraman employed? Ten showed an interview from the night as well as one from the following day.
Or first for breakfast television. Today had an interview with this man, IIRC, in the 5.30am block with Jessica Millwood. Similar questions, similar responses. I honestly don’t know why Sunrise is creating all the fuss.
‘Aussiest’ interview ever guy cashes in on heroic pursuit with Sunrise
The website encompasses my reaction to this whole ‘story’ - smh.
Five years to the day since the first I Wake Up with Today on the Cash Cow. Kochie and Nat’s reaction was priceless!
Awww those were the days. Sunrise has definitely lost its spark since then.
Look at how uncluttered and pleasant it looked with small graphics.
Even the widescreen version of them looked good.
The cash prize of $40,000 was honoured and the winner accepted it for the spirit of Christmas.
James Tobin presented the weather from the studio today - first time in a long time!
He was also in the studio a few times a couple of months ago.
Sunrise won week 48 by 14,000 winning all markets except Sydney.
From the end of survey ratings media releases:
From Seven we learn that Sunrise’s average audience for the 2016 survey was 319,000 to Today’s 315,000.
From Nine; Sunrise 312,000 to Today 316,000 if Olympics are excluded.
Both appear to based on Consolidated 28.
How many weeks each?
Sunrise seem to have won consistently days/weeks/markets of late…
