I know a lot of negative comments have been made about them since the relaunch, but I’m sorry, Sunrise’s graphics and overall visual presentation this morning are way superior and more professional looking than Today’s. Much more suited to serious news coverage.

Agree. Looks great and overall a very god broadcast this morning so far.

I don’t even mean just the colours; font, layout, the lot look great. Backdrops, backgrounds to reporters etc. Today, by comparison, looks cheap, washed out, unauthoratitive

Just been watching Sunrise via the live streams.

Sunrise is being broadcast live into SA and QLD this morning, but is still delayed in WA, which seems odd.

The QLD and SA editions have a coverup clock over the AEDT clock from the Sydney feed. Except they’re in Orange, not Red like the rest of the flipper.

Say what you want about Sunrise and its relaunch, but they do the big news stories well. Bit weird hearing Kochie calling Eddy, Edwina (only because she isnt usually). Also noticed at one point they used the 7 news set to show vision and topical gfx.

Good choice with Nat hosting…Not good for Sam’s image though. Big news story and she is MIA.

It may have been a planned holiday with Easter coming up soon. But it could be that she’s on her way to Europe again to cover this story.

I’ve given her a chance and I admit she was very good at the beginning of her run but for a while now she just doesn’t seem engaged. She never seems as if she wants to be there. I am also really over Michael Pell, he took Sam and has tried to make her the face of the entire program.

I remember right back when she first filled in reading the news on Weekend Sunrise, people on this forum didn’t like her style. [/quote] I think now when she presents she gives across an attitude that is rather unpleasant. As for Pell, he would do anything for Sam over Kochie. Kochie nor Pell are sexist, it is just one of Kochie’s characteristics- passionate.

Speaking of which, Sam is back at Brekky Central this morning.

Anyone else think that if the ratings continue the way they are over the next couple of months that Sam and Pell will be gone, Nat will be the new co-host, Edwina will replace Nat on news and Nelson will be back doing enteratinment. It makes no sense that Sam was away yesterday and back hosting today which makes me think she was deliberately given yesterday off.

You’re reading too much into it. She could have just been sick or needed a personal day. If they were testing out alternative line-ups, they would pick a different day to do it.

-Planned day off for unavoidable personal commitment
-Had to attend an out of state funeral

There’s 3 reasons for starters. Think of all the reasons you might take leave from your job. No reason why Samantha wouldn’t be doing the same

That’s not reading to much into anything, she was there Monday, gone the day of major breaking news with no mention, then back the day after. It’s not fat fetched especially considering what everyone has said about her capabilities during breaking news.

I get that, but they could have just said “With Sam off sick, Eddy has the rest of todays news” at the top of the hour. Sure its not much but to viewers it can come across that when the big stories break, their lead anchor is MIA.
