Sunrise (2015-Sept 2020)

I wish it was Nat and Kochie hosting Mon-Fri and Mon and Baz Sat-Sun and get rid of Sam Armytage maybe - the show seems to be under a more negative mood with her influence

On the days where Nat is co-hosting and not reading the news, I would prefer that they don’t always use Eddy as the newsreader and have some other people reading the news such as Angela Cox, Angie Asimus (when she returns from maternity leave), Sally Bowrey, and even Ann Sanders although I doubt that would happen.

No offence to Eddy but I prefer her in a hosting role, which I think she is great in, rather than reading the news. I think she could co-host Weekend Sunrise if Monique Wright ever decided to leave.

The 20% cut finishes at end of June for all her colleagues. She stays on 20% less and works 20% less accordingly.

I agree with this. I’ve never warmed to Eddy on news.

Can’t see Basil filling in on Weekend Sunrise for the rest of the year (at least) due to the WA hard border restrictions preventing travel to and from the state.

From what I can gather, premier Mark McGowan has declared he won’t re-open the borders until local transmission of the coronavirus drops dramatically in the eastern states.

Add to that - Sam Mac does weather Mon-Thu and James Tobin Fri-Sun.

I understand but you forgot to read my first two words.
“I wish.”

If it essentially becomes a M-Th/F-S set up, you’d have to get rid of the “Weekend” part and just re-brand all 7 days as Sunrise.

It will be for a while

To keep it consistent does that also then mean that Mark Beretta presents sport from Mon-Thu & Simon Reeve from Fri-Sun?

Yep.

In their situation, I don’t see them flying Simon Reeve down and putting him up in a hotel week in, week out. Ryan Phelan would have been the better option (and he still could have filled in for TMS) but they’d need to introduce someone Sydney based. Perhaps Matt Carmichael.

22/6/2020 Kochie and Nat are hosting this morning with Eddy reading the news.

Seems like the new roster as revealed by The Sunday Telegraph yesterday has already kicked in.

I’ve noticed that they have got rid of the graphic behind them at the desk and they’re sitting a bit closer than what they have been since the pandemic started. News and Sport continues where they are currently.

I don’t think it’ll make any difference to Sunrise tbh, Nat’s been with the show for so long and people are so used to her as a fill in presenter that it’s pretty much business as usual.

Minor blooper on Sunrise this morning.

It says Joel Dry was from Melbourne when he was actually reporting from Kangaroo Point in Brisbane.

It’s amazing how dated Sunrise’s graphics are. How old are they again?

Almost 5 years old I believe :open_mouth:

They were dated when they debuted.

Sunrise’s current graphics were launched on February 1, 2016.

Personally I think they were on the tacky side even at launch, although with the dollars as tight as they are now (and have been of late) it wouldn’t overly surprise me if the current look remains in use until at least 2022.

The current Sunrise graphics set has been in place since February 1, 2016.

Only God knows when Sunrise (and Seven News and The Latest for that matter) will get a new graphics set, but dare I say it won’t happen before the year is out.
