For interest sake: Jane Holmes said on the Neil Mitchell morning program on AW radio this morning that ~3 million total, 900k Melburnians watched the combined Coronation and 169k Melburnians (combined Channel 7 + Fox Footy I’m guessing but not including streaming) chose to watch the AFL. Interestingly she didn’t mention her employers Nine had a resounding victory in Melbourne (thanks to Seven’s bumped to 7Two in a failed move). Her and Neil also made comment that Seven News (after the AFL) last night went with royal special coverage first and for about 10min, whereas Nine News was about fourth story in.
