Surely no one thinks Ten will relaunch with a new show next year. This move to reduce Studio 10 shows they don’t care about their morning line-up. When Studio 10 is eventually axed you can guarantee it will be replaced by filler content. And I don’t know what a name change will achieve. People won’t forget and will still associate Ten with having poor quality morning shows.
If they want to persist they should keep the Studio 10 branding but do better with content. I glanced at a television in the office today and it had Daniel Doody dancing with members of the audience. Riveting content.
That sums up most morning TV though. Just check out what was on the competition this morning. I noticed TMS had a body language “expert” talking through the Harry & Meghan show on Netflix.
It is a CBS product, so like ET, regardless of the product, they will find a home for it guaranteed. Episodes are either PG or M so you would think 1pm would be the go.
I did think it was unusual that they did not include it in the initial announcement for a consistent and reasonably rating program.
I am guessing that is why Judge Judy hasnt got repeat next to it because if Dr Phil ends at 2pm, the reality encore probably won’t finish until 3 something and no guarantee Judge Judy will get a second outing each day. I wonder if this speculation about Dr Phil and the afternoon viewing being pushed back, if then they would air the same episode as the morning or do a trim job on it and air one case if say the reality encore finishes around 3:15pm or 3:45pm
I’ve never seen them do that with Judy, only ET and some of their myriad of seemingly generic cooking shows. They’d probably just use one of these if they only had ~15 mins of space to fill.
True, but I am assuming whoever provided the program schedule is suggesting there is no guarantee that the morning screening is a encore of the previous days episode like it is now
Interesting that you mention their myriad of seemingly generic cooking shows because I was just about to raise the question of whether a live cookery based format could actually work for 10 in the mornings (or at lunchtime). We went through a period here in the UK where it seemed every new daytime chat show had to have a cookery element and although they’re not my thing they work and with 10’s association with Masterchef, and it appears other cookery fillers during the day, could that point of difference work. I suspect a product placement deal could go a long way to funding it too.
Probably be better suited to something that followed Studio 10 than replaced it, but just putting the thought out there.
Tristan is good, but i also have to agree that he needs a stronger counterpart for 2023, like how Sarah Harris was with him.
Curiously, with Tristan appearing on some A-League matches on Saturday nights as a “sideline commentator”, does he then have a day off during the week on Studio 10?
