F1 is with Foxtel until 2022
at the end of 2022 season, which is 2 full seasons away.
That’s only a year away.
I want 10 to create a stan sport with paramount+
Paramount+ Sport
They need some rights for that to happen, which I can’t see happening anytime soon.
My understanding was this was the last year for the rights deal.
ATP Tour is locked in with BeIN Sports after leaving ESPN last year.
Here are some articles talking about Foxtel Ten F1 deal.
Maybe someone can make sense from those articles posted. As to whether or not, this year is the last for Ten & Fox.
According to the articles, there is one more year. This would mean Nogotions for a new deal would be starting this year.
so this is the last year? I thought it was two years left all along.
Racefans has said this:
Formula One has signed a new five-year deal with Fox Sports to extend its coverage until 2022.
Under the arrangement the Australian Grand Prix will continue to be shown live on free-to-air television while all other rounds will be live on pay television. Highlights of the other races will be shown free-to-air.
Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport, is pleased to confirm that leading international broadcaster FOX SPORTS will retain the rights to broadcast the FIA Formula One World Championship, as part of a new five-year deal that will run until the close of the 2022 Championship with immediate effect.
As part of this agreement Network Ten will continue to broadcast live free-to-view coverage of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. Delayed free-to-view highlights of every other race will also be broadcast.
Clever marketing here.
SONNY BILL WILLIAMS JOINS STAN SPORT TEAM
International sporting icon Sonny Bill Williams joins the Stan Sport team as a featured expert and member of the commentary team, in addition to joining Nine’s WWOS NRL team.
Stan today announced international superstar, former national and international Rugby and Rugby League champion, and undefeated heavyweight boxing champion Sonny Bill Williams has joined Stan Sport and will also join the commentary lineups for both Stan and Nine’s Wide World of Sports.
The announcement comes following the hugely successful kick off of the 2021 Super Rugby AU and Super Rugby Aotearoa seasons on Stan’s new add on sport package Stan Sport – with every match available ad-free, live and on demand.
One of only two people to become a dual-code international after first representing New Zealand in Rugby League, and part of an elite group of players who have won multiple Rugby World Cups, Sonny Bill Williams joins the Stan Sport and WWOS commentary teams following his second stint with the Sydney Roosters during last year’s NRL season – after previously leading them to premiership glory in 2013.
Sonny Bill Williams said: “I’m honoured to have this opportunity to join the Stan Sport team. Before I decided to step into this space I just asked myself that simple question: is it going to be challenging? And the answer was an overwhelming yes.
"I know I represent a lot of young Polynesian boys and young Kiwi boys. We represent so much on the field. But when it comes to off the field, we’re not really in this space. So just being able to jump into that space and see how we go, that’s what I’m looking forward to the most.”
To hear exclusively from Williams on his new appointment and what his future holds, tune in to Rugby Heaven at 8:00pm AEDT next Tuesday night, March 16th exclusively on Stan Sport.
Anchored by renowned Rugby hosts and journalists Roz Kelly and Nick McArdle , Stan Sport’s new commentary team will see Williams join as a featured expert alongside the likes of David Campese and Michael Cheika , plus former Wallabies Tim Horan , Morgan Turinui , Drew Mitchell and Justin Harrison , former All Blacks legend Andrew Mehrtens and former dual-code international star Allana Ferguson .
Experienced commentators Sean Maloney and Andrew Swain are also on board the team to call every kick, try and tackle from every match this year.
A typical unhelpful response from the social media team at a big corporation. What other details would Stan want?
So with Sports Flick’s bid for the UEFA Champions League falling over (cue feigned surprise), it looks like Stan Sport may be back in contention for them, according to this quote in a SMH article:
Sources with knowledge of the talks, who spoke anonymously for commercial confidentiality reasons, said UEFA has started contacting rival bidders, including streaming service Stan, to see whether they are still interested in acquiring the rights. The talks have occurred, the sources said, because Sports Flick has been unable to get financial guarantees to support the $60 million three-year deal.
Sports Flick didn’t want to bid after the uproar over the ESL
Or a good excuse to avoid the embarrassment of not being able to fund your rights bid.
I don’t think they know what is wrong with it
Optus would be frontrunner. It’s a Nine newspaper, so they are going to give the example of Stan.
Tweets like that don’t deserve a response.
