It still works for Fox Sports News though?
I mentioned FSN in that post. They have a variation of shows outside that plus it’s all they do. They’re a destination (kinda like ESPN is), plus take media conferences etc live so have a strong positioning. Although I’m not sure it “works” that strongly ratings wise.
Sports Tonight is a show, once a week on a channel that has few sporting rights.
What’s the pull to viewers? “We talk sports”? So does everyone.

Fox Sports has rights to a decent majority of Australia’s top sporting events/codes, so having sports news programming (indeed, a full channel dedicated to sports news programming) makes sense for them. Not to mention with FSN being part of the basic Foxtel package, it kind of acts as a promotional vehicle for Fox Sports coverage and the Foxtel Sports package.
None really.
As far as mainstream Australia is concerned, they might watch Ten for sports coverage once or twice come Spring (Bathurst 1000 + Melbourne Cup carnival) but just about everything else of sporting significance is on Seven, Nine & Fox Sports.

There’s no point even running the show at that time. Surely they aren’t making a return on a product being made that runs in the last hour of the 24 hour day?!

It should be on straight after My Life is Murder rather than Bull. Surely that latter show can be bumped to after ST.

No, Ten needs content post 10.30 so it is good they are continuing to produce this. It doesn’t rate to justify a pre-10.30 slot.

I would love to watch it but the late night slot turns me off… its way too late
They could always encore it on Ten since they encore almost everything else these days. Maybe Thursday’s daytime?

Any idea what the ratings are like atm?
It was on around 11.20 last night.
Rarely reported now as it is shown so late, but surely can’t be great at that time and following US dramas.
Why are they still persisting with this?
Who knows why they are still persisting with this show? It’s airing later and later each week!
I used to love this show back in the hey day. I even watched most of it last year when Matt White hosted it. As it aired at an earlier time. I’ve only watched it maybe 3 times this year. Wrong night. Wrong time.

I feel like that this show only exists and continues to air because it’s in someones contract…
it cant be because of “Australian Quota”, because The Project Encore usually airs arounds 11pm onwards.
