It feels a week too early - not a fan of the expansion.

It does feel a little early, but at least they’re bringing through some up and comers, more internationals and fan favourites. Beau Graves’s match against Daryl Gurney, the man with the best chin in darts, will be a good one. It had to happen eventually.

You can’t be serious.

Aussie Catherine Drysdale has won this year’s Antarctic Ice Marathon.

Oklahoma City Thunder’s 16-win streak has been snapped in the NBA Cup semifinal.

San Antonio Spurs win 111-109, off the back of four 22-pointers.

Unlike the NBA Cup, Melbourne United and Wellington Phoenix, who are completely useless, the PDC Darts World Championship goes rolling along.

Pretty much everyone who was expected to win did win, and Paul Lim just keeps getting better with age.

A night of upsets at the PDC World Darts Championships, Kiwi Jonny Tata beat Richie Edhouse and Indian Nitin Kumar took it to a 5th set decider against Richard Veenstra.

(Kiwi) Jonny Tata 3-0 Ritchie Edhouse (3-2, 3-1, 3-1) - doing the Kiwis proud
Dom Taylor 3-0 Oskar Lukasiak (3-0, 3-0, 3-1)

Wesley Plaisier 3-1 Lukas Wenig (3-0, 2-3, 3-2, 3-1)

Ricardo Pietreczko v Jose de Sousa - I hope de Sousa wins, he’s entertaining, but I can see Pietreczko getting over the top, de Sousa has not been in the best of form a long time.
Danny Noppert v Jurjen van der Velde
Gerwyn Price v Adam Gawlas - I wonder if the ear muffs come back out?
Niko Springer v Joe Comito (Aussie) - Comito has half a chance, but Springer has a decent year.

I do understand it’s a heat of the moment thing, but he did need to control it a bit better. I know it’s a lot coming from me, but I’m come to realise there are better ways to control the emotions, and funnel that into your play. At least he didn’t thump the board like others have done. The DRA will probably do their thing.

Unlike American sports, the PDC World Darts Championship has successfully expanded.

No afternoon session last night (our time), only the evening session. James Wade, an rarity in darts for being a lefty, won his opening round match, while former world champion Ramyond van Barneveld was knocked out in the first round. Maybe he should’ve stayed retired…

Jermaine Wattimena v Dominik Gruellich
Dave Chisnall v Fallon Sherrock - probably the highlight. Everyone loves a bit of Fallon and Chizzy. I can see Chizzy win but Fallon could pull off an upset.
Michael van Gerwen v Mitsuhiko Tatsunami - the Japanese player is toast. He’s playing MVG.
Krzysztof Ratajski v Alexis Toylo
