Is this a first in Australia/worldwide?
Animated on-field ads (the Lego one seen here):
Reminds me of the rotatii VB can at the last match at Victoria Park 25 years ago. From memory Seven held the rights to this tech here initially and rolled it out at various events marquee events. Rugby tests were another regular recipient of the tech. The video below includes a very primitive looking Mitsubishi animated bill board.

I dont believe so
Didn’t think so, just never seen it before.
I’m not sure why DAZN is so expensive when there is hardly any live content on there. Then they just give you the option to pay extra for more content. To me out of all of these DAZN is the most overpriced at the moment.
No coverage of West Indies vs Pakistan. So the ESPN cricket deal for Australia’s tour of West Indies only covered that tour. This is the price we pay when broadcasters demand individual tours only and cricket boards allow it. As far as I can see, there is no way to watch/stream the West Indies v Pakistan series in Australia.
Well, the opposite is they demand a high figure for a long term deal covering anything and broadcasters give it a miss and the Australia/Windies tour doesn’t get shown at all.
Splintered international deals are the way forward now - long term partnerships rarely offer the value for broadcasters that they once did. England and India might be the last that do.
A Windies v Pakistan meaningless T20 series in the middle of the work day is hardly going to drive subs or viewers for any network.
It might be shown on West Indies YouTube
Re: NFL this season, via the NFL’s Australasian PR agency. The Redzone stuff is new?

RedZone is included in your D+ sub for the first time. I have DAZN and there is no blackouts for games that are on ESPN. Love the content on Disney+ with ESPN rather than just the two ESPN channels on Kayo
I’m pretty sure ESPN AU/NZ has had redzone in years gone past.
Redzone was previously via the Watch ESPN app in Aus - which seems to have been replaced by Disney plus.
Ah cool. NZ access was severely hampered by that but it was on DAZN
It’s a massive improvement to WatchESPN the ESPN on Disney+ app which launched earlier this year in Australia.
Yes, and they lost it to TAB, which had it exclusively in wagering venues only via Sky Racing
News Corp reports netball broadcast rights are back up for grabs, with Netball Australia opening up negotiations for a new deal, with a possible return to FTA. Fox Sports currently holds the rights, with their five-year $35 million Super Netball deal expiring at the end of 2026.
The big question is will 7 & ESPN continue to show the International feed, instead of the US broadcast.
I recall Ten’s run from 2008 - 2016 was somewhat successful and they put in quite a bit to their coverage, helped by the ONE HD days, seem to remember Sunday afternoons on main channel as well and who could forget AFL expert Luke Darcy co-hosting/calling with Liz Ellis (until 2011)! Kelli Underwood was also part of the coverage.
You’d think DAZN wouldn’t be really interested in this. No one knew it was where or when it was on. They had record crowds because people couldn’t afford to pay for coverage. They’d better off being on free to air in partnership with a streamer that owns a free to air network. So really it’s either 9/stan or 10/p+.
DAZN don’t have a free to air network and don’t really like non-international sports. And seven don’t have a subscription. DAZN and 7 teaming up wouldn’t be good at all.
