SMH have subsequently “clarified”

An ASX statement on Monday said that Southern Cross does not have a Northern NSW TV licence. While Southern Cross does not have a licence in NSW, it was the sales representative for Nine. SMI attributes the amount earned in that period to Southern Cross. Excluding $11.5 million from Northern NSW, Southern Cross lost $5.5 million in the first three months of the new financial year.

Distinction should also be made between revenue and profit.

Are there any journos left who understand the distinction?

Refinancing a debt facility: lipstick on a pig. It’s still debt and lots of it.

I noticed this on the Hit Network stations’ livestreams, but they’re going to be moving their streams to Listnr. I clicked on the link and it says the site is only available in Australia & New Zealand, so it redirected me to PodcastOne. I happen to live in the US, so does this mean that the SCA’s streams will become geoblocked next year?

I wouldn’t be surprised if they did. I’m sure the streams will continue to be on RadioApp (which, because it is run by Commercial Radio Australia, it is only available in Australia). In America the Audacy networks’ stations are only on the Audacy app (which is not available outside the USA).

@ChocoMingo use a VPN to fix this silly decision

In 2022 stations will take a “highly localised approach” to programming and marketing, while delivering “increased autonomy and responsibility to metro content directors.”

A new Head of Metro Content will be appointed across the two networks, resulting in the positions of Heads of the Hit and Triple M networks being made redundant. Local Hit and Triple M Content Directors will be appointed, reporting to the Head of Metro Content, bring the structure in line with the recently appointed Head of Regional Content Blair Woodcock.

Given the impending changes, Hit Network head Gemma Fordham “has made the decision to leave SCA to enjoy an extended break with her family.” Triple M Network head Mike Fitzpatrick may remain with the network in a yet to be determined role.

Eg: We’ll likely see more things like “Make Today, A Better Today”, and less of “The Hits You Love From Then To Now”.

Mike Fitz surely will stay on with Listnr Sports and MMM Melbourne.

So has “this will be an exciting year for 2DAY” aka Gemma resigned/redundant/going as a result?

I did later, was time for sleep after a 20hr shift keeping people alive, no medication incorrectly prescribed despite the lack of sleep and increased workload demands.

Pedersen will manage and lead SCA’s senior general management team and continue as general manager for the Melbourne and Adelaide markets.

The senior general management team comprises:

  • Regional NSW: Tracy Paterson
  • Sydney & Gosford: Sarah Potts
  • Regional Victoria/Tasmania: Ally Bradley
  • Brisbane: Will Allen
  • Regional Queensland: Ken Wood
  • Perth: Marc Eddy
  • Regional Western Australia: Ian Kennedy
  • Regional South Australia/Northern Territory: Rob Iannazzo

Interesting to see that Gosford is under the same GM as Sydney.

Also when Gosford does regional breakfast for Hit, and gets some regional programs on Triple M eg Dave Ferrier instead of Dave Gleeson at night.

The general manager roles don’t oversee content - they’re more sales and admin focused.
Content has its reporting structure to the heads of content.
