Songs lost to radio

Now here’s a song that has now nearly entirely been forgotten on radio - by the original Australian popstars.

Might just be me but I’m not a fan of this, prefer to be kept a little in suspense about which songs they play rather than just mentioning the artist, although in this era of radio with narrow playlists it’s not overly a shock what they would play if the station is in the regular listening rotation.

Agree, I like it when they give an obscure clue/ fact about the artist coming up…eg..“Coming up, the artist whose idea for their biggest hit was written on a Post It Note” etc. and then after another song or ad break, they play a clip of the artist discussing that and then the song.

“We Don’t Talk Anymore” was the first song ever played on 102FM Adelaide after 5DN converted to FM in 1990.

A more imaginative choice than say “New Sensation” that every other station seems to go with.

Good choice.

The late Ron E Sparx was the master of this. I’d do it more but for all the other information I cram into my talk breaks!

Yet another song that slaps

Also makes for a great line dancing track - get this one up at Tamworth.

Well…no. I meant what I said.

Havent’t heard this in a while

…We’re meant to be together
I’ll be there, and you’ll be near
And that’s the deal, my dear
There over, hereunder
You’ll never have to wonder
We can always play by ear
But that’s the deal, my dear

I heard that on the radio somewhere in the last few days too. Still a good song.

I particularly like her other hit, also lost to radio

Objection (Tango).

Yet another song that slaps so hard it leaves a bruise.

It’s the perfect celebration of our multiculturalism if you think about it, as we all know people who he identifies in this song. And don’t lie, you do.

Showing my age here but I’d love to hear glam music on any station. Apart from early Queen and Bowie no-one plays glam. I know it’s all strange glitz and glam outfits but some of the songs are really good.

Yeah, there’s not enough Roxy Music, T. Rex or Sweet on the radio…

But then again, I guess there’s not much from the 70s in general on commercial radio.

Youre forgetting about this guy

Speaking of people who fall into this category…

A reminder that…

Not the nicest of people but gee I love some of his songs. The Glitter Band also had some great songs.
