Not Fox News Australia yet my friend
I know right.
So much popcorn needed for that exchange! One thing is clear that the overwhelming majority of people on here hate Sky News, and that is their right to express that view. You donât need to be a rocket scientist to know that Sky News is a right-leaning organisation. The reality is that news organisations, whether it be a news department in a TV network, a subscription service, website or newspaper pander to their audiences prejudices. If those who want to challenge that view, why is it then that the left-wingers are almost exclusively the ones that defend the ABC and others? Conversely, why is it then that right-wingers are almost exclusively the ones that defend Sky News and others? There is a clear, underlying bias against right leaning views in this group.
Iâll finish up by asking this question? If Sky News was a left-leaning news channel and doing exactly the same thing that Sky are doing now? Would the majority of participants be laying into Sky like they are now? My guess is no.
And no, I do not watch Sky News. In fact, I donât watch a lot of news because I have much better things to do with my time.
Clearly not
And you would be wrong, as evidenced by this very thread. Multiple posters defend Sky News and its output regularly. You yourself are, in a sense, doing it now.
I just want to make it very clear on my end Iâm not defending Sky or its presenters at all. Itâs the name calling that I think itâs unnecessary. As for opinions on the channel and itâs presenters, I do think itâs an outrageous channel and itâs presenters do say and preach some pretty dangerous stuff but yeah, definitely not defending them, I just donât think calling them names helps anyone.
Same here - the opinions are definitely dangerous, but if we are calling the presenters rude names, the arenât we just as bad as them.
Would do the same if someone said something similar about an ABC, Nine, Seven, or 10 presenter.
In a sense? Iâm not defending anyone or any group. All
Iâm doing is keeping people honest here. As for the multiple posters defending Sky News, the overwhelming majority of posts are from people who hate Sky News and it outnumbers those who defend it.
Some Behind The Scenes Photos from the Paul Murray Pub Test show that happened last night. Taken by a contact that works for Sky.
I love the way they call it the pub test as if those who are in the audience are random people in a pub. Thatâs the genuine deal with a pub test - a bunch of average Australians.
This group is not a random selection of people. Itâs the Sky News viewersâ club.
Itâs not open minded. Itâs the Paul Murray Love Fest - outraged and ready to yell.
All served with a good deal of hatred, with bangers and mash and loads of gravy.
Where was this?
I hope Labor win the Queensland election today.
Iâm a single issue voter.
The only issue that interests me is to annoy Paul Murray and remind him that he has nowhere near the political influence he thinks he does.
I hope youâre right but unfortunately I think the other mob (Skyâs friends) will win.

8pm: The Real Cost of Net Zero
Sky News Australia has sent a football team-sized crew to cover next weekâs United States election for its MAGA-obsessed online US audience, as it works to make up for a dwindling broadcast audience in Australia.
The News Corp-owned network has 18 staff in the US, fronted by a mix of its opinion and news stars James Morrow, Paul Murray and Peter Stefanovic. Its model thrives off scale, speed and frequency, with the channel pushing the picture of a flailing Vice President Kamala Harris and a ârock starâ Donald Trump as November 5 approaches.
Didnât he try that already??
Yep - only lasted four episodes IIRC

Sky News Australia has become the countryâs first TV channel to reach 5 million subscribers on the worldâs largest video platform, YouTube.
Since establishing a presence on YouTube in 2019, Sky News Australia has consistently outperformed local and international peers and is now one of the worldâs top 10 highest reaching English-language news channels on the platform.
With more than 5.5 billion video views on YouTube to date, Sky News Australia now outrates international behemoths including CBS News, USA Today, The New York Times, The Guardian, Al Jazeera and Daily Mail on total global YouTube views.
While strong growth has been achieved across all devices on YouTube, connected TV continues to bring in more audiences from Australia, with tailored programming like The Royal Report, formats including digital-only program Power Hour, and high-profile contributors such as Megyn Kelly and Douglas Murray, driving the networkâs growth not just on digital platforms but also across traditional TV products.

On linear subscription television, Sky News has outrated ABC News by 204% this year.
Sky News has become the go-to channel for live breaking news with the US election delivering the highest share day on record for Sky News on both Foxtel (10.7% share) and Sky News Regional (7.3% share). Sky News Regional out-rated the SBS and Ten main channels in available free-to-air markets for the day.
