Anyone in the area who wants to record the shutdown lol
a screen turning black?
Interesting that they couldnât do a deal for SA/Griffith but could for NNSW
Interesting that the channel is now only available in areas where Ten is the primary affiliate
This was also the case when WIN was the 10 affiliate. WIN even aired some of the Sky News Regional programming on its main channel.
Isnât it avail nationwide on Samsung tv plus
Pretty much. It has the same schedule as Regional including the excessive Fox Sports News simulcasting. The only difference is in the mornings with First Edition instead of Breakfast.
Sky News Regional currently simulcasting⌠Main Event?
Edit: Checked Kayo and Main Event is going out on Fox Sports News currently for some reason. No FSN branding, straight simulcast.
Back to (Sky) news now - earlier than scheduled?
Fox Sports often simulcasts boxing weigh-ins for major events that Main Event has the rights to. Depending on the type of bout, they will often spread the weigh-in across Main Event, Fox Sports News (run by Australian News Channel), and a general Fox Sports channel. Weigh-ins involving ex-AFL or ex-NRL players air on Fox Footy or Fox League.
Sky News Regional takes content from Fox Sports News as a means to break away from the Foxtel Sky News feed. Sky News Regional joined Fox Sports News while they were simulcasting the weigh-in from Main Event, which is why it aired on the regional feed.
Itâs a weird call to be using FSN as an overflow channel at the best of times, but even moreso in the windows where itâs simulcast on free-to-air.
They often run these press-conference/weigh in shows on their other channels. May have been a mistake that it ran out on SNR.
Doubt anyone involved in the scheduling thinks about the regional channel (if they know it exists).
Nah itâs deliberate. Great opportunity to flog the fights.
The key is the QR code with SCAN TO ORDER. Trying to get some money out of their free viewers.
I think the Regional feed also gets replays of opinion shows the next day instead of some of the live news.
any excerpts?
Sky Newsâ supply agreements with WIN and SCA â now inherited by Network 10 â are due to expire at the end of June. Should the network opt out of the deals and choose to air proprietary content such as childrenâs network Nickelodeon, Sky would be left without a signal into regional homes in Australiaâs three most-populous states.
Negotiations between Sky and Ten are ongoing. Ten and Sky declined to comment on the status of the commercial agreement.
If Sky does disappear, itâs no guarantee that Nickelodeon will replace it
at least if it does, it goes from one demographic that wears nappies to another
