I heard that there is an option that Seven might get the Beijing 2022 and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, however, it is unconfirmed. I am hoping that Seven will secure the rights for the Games.

Next weekend’s Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race will be shown live mainly on 7TWO due to the day/night cricket test on main channel. Mark Beretta will again host the cycling event with Seven News Melbourne’s Jacqueline Felgate as reporter. Broadcast times from event website:

Saturday 26 January
Deakin University Elite Women’s Road Race
12.30pm AEDT LIVE on 7TWO all states

Sunday 27 January
Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race – Elite Men’s Race
Sydney and Melbourne 10.30am LIVE on Channel 7, 1.00pm LIVE on 7TWO
Adelaide 10.00am LIVE on Channel 7, 12.30pm LIVE on 7TWO
Brisbane 9.30am LIVE on 7TWO, 10.00am LIVE on Channel 7, 12.00pm LIVE on 7TWO
Perth 8.00am LIVE on 7TWO

Both races will be streamed live on 7plus: women’s race at 12.30pm AEDT Saturday and men’s race at 10.30am AEDT Sunday.

The stupidity of shifting live sport around channels. Should just be on one of the channels.

Why? Than you would whinge it’s not in HD and all they are showing is Mash again on the main channel.

It’s not hard to pick up the remote that along side you and flick the channel, in which you most likely do anyway? :man_facepalming:

Not likely as I will not be watching it.

It’s because Seven is unwilling to curtail Weekend Sunrise in Queensland for the cycling race. Strange, as Seven would finish Sunrise early in some states on weekdays for its test cricket coverage.

Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

The 2019 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race has assembled a crack field featuring a record 15 UCI WorldTour teams.

Reigning champion, Australian cyclist Jay McCarthy, will set out to defend his crown as he races with German team BORA–hansgrohe.

After a strong showing in last week’s Tour Down Under that included a final stage win, Australian Richie Porte leads Trek Segafredo.

South African Daryl Impey, fresh from winning the Tour Down Under, leads the Australian outfit Mitchelton-Scott, while Italian champion Elia Viviani will be out to build on his recent strong form.

Regarded as one of the leading one-day classic races outside of Europe, the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race is the opening one-day race of the UCI WorldTour calendar. The Elite Men’s Road Race 163km course starts at Geelong’s waterfront, heads southeast through Cadel’s hometown of Barwon Heads to Thirteenth Beach, then along the coast through Torquay and Bells Beach before winding back through the rolling Ceres hills to Geelong.

Sunrise sports guru Mark Beretta hosts Seven’s coverage alongside Tour de France commentator Matt Keenan and former cycling star Robbie McEwen – a triple winner of the Green sprinters jersey in the Tour De France – along with former Australian champion Kate Bates and Spanish Classic specialist Juan Antonio Flecha.

Jacqui Felgate will be reporting on all the colour and action from around the course as the teams race through some of Victoria’s most scenic but challenging roads.

The Deakin University Elite Women’s Road Race will be broadcast on 7TWO and streamed LIVE on 7plus on Saturday January 26 and highlights will also be on Channel 7, 7TWO and 7plus on Sunday January 27.

Reigning champion and Commonwealth Games gold medallist, Australia’s Chloe Hosking, will return to defend her crown with Italian cycling team Ale Cipollini.

Out of pure curiousity, why did 7 schedule the Tour Down Under on 7mate yet decided to schedule this on 7two?
Would have thought given they’re both cycling that they would be better served being broadcast on the same channel.

Any news about the scheduling for the 2019 Bathurst 12 Hour? I’m assuming its on 7Mate.

It’s on 7Two

Bathurst 12-Hour

THE Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour will again be shown live and free on the Seven Network this February.

7mate will broadcast more than 13 hours of coverage across the February 2-3 weekend, continuing a massive summer of live sport on the channels of Seven that has already included the Australia versus India test series, KFC Big Bash League and the Tour Down Under cycling race.

7mate’s coverage of Australia’s International Enduro will include Saturday’s Pirelli Top-10 shootout, while race coverage will commence at 5:30am on Sunday, February 3. The entire Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour will be shown live and free on 7mate.

7 Sport’s Mark Beretta will anchor the coverage and leads an international broadcast team assembled to cover the race.

John Hindhaugh, Richard Craill and Jonny Palmer will call the race from the commentary box, while Beretta will be joined by 7Sport reporter Alex Hart, Chad Neylon and Shea Adam in covering the critical action from pit lane.

Briony Ingerson will cover the off-track action.

Fans in Australia will be able to watch the coverage on mobile devices via the 7plus application.

International fans will be catered for via free live streaming available through the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour website and multiple streaming partners.

Radiolemans.com will also provide live audio coverage of every 12-hour session throughout the weekend.

The Bathurst 12 Hour social media accounts will keep fans without access to vision up to date right across the event weekend.

The 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour will be held across four days, on 31 January to 3 February 2019.

The Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour is supported by the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

Tickets can be purchased via Ticketek, with access via the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour website – www.bathurst12hour.com.au

It was revealed during tonight’s cricket coverage that Seven would broadcast the first ever Six Day Melbourne cycling event early next month from Melbourne Arena. The name may be Six Day but the Melbourne event is actually held over three days, featuring the world’s best track cyclists racing in a party atmosphere. The race will be live streamed on 7plus and 7Sport app from 6pm AEDT on February 7-9, with highlights on Seven and 7mate later in the month.
Six Day Melbourne is part of the seven-leg Six Day Series around the world, with the final event in Brisbane on Apri 12-14.

EDIT 26/1: the early end to the day/night cricket test means Seven will be able to show the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race men’s elite race on the main channel in Sydney and Melbourne all day.

Seven will be using CBS commentary featuring Tony Romo and Jim Nantz for Super Bowl LIII on 7mate but ESPN will be using the MNF team.

Looks like I will be watching 7mate for the first time this season.

Next week’s Super Bowl telecast will be on 7mate only. Things may change however if the second test between Australia and Sri Lanka does not go into the fourth day.

The test match starts on Friday so Monday would be Day 4. Considering the last test went 2 1/2 days, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the super bowl on the main channel on Monday,

Yep, same here. Can’t believe they think using their guys over the best guys in the business is a good idea. I’ll take SD 7mate over HD ESPN for Romo alone.

There might be other issues here: fees, licensing, or simply letting their own guys call the Super Bowl.

No, i see what they are wanting to do by trying to advertise their guys but really the small audience Australia and New Zealand is not what needs to be convinced
