Seven On-Air Presentation

I saw a different sponsor billboard tonight during Last Cab to Darwin. It was a community sponsor billboard for a charity (I think it was Unicef), with a large red arrow background and TV Man in the corner. It looked quite good.

Yes it did look good. Although I didn’t watch it I can say that because I believe it has aired before, maybe sometime during BGT.

Possible network relaunch tomorrow from hints I’ve been given from the inside. Not sure if 100% but I’ve been hearing there’s been a lot of work happening and there’s a LOT riding on tomorrow night. Seven from what I have heard are using tomorrow nights BB premiere as a launch pad… I guess we will see this time tomorrow night.

Relaunch in what way?

Footy starts back this week too so it makes sense to do it this week if happening at all

As in branding of their presentation and promos for other shows. You have to remember that AFL isn’t as dominant outside of Victoria so they won’t do a relaunch on a Thursday night…

The network is really relying on BB as a massive success for the network, so as there are no olympics they will use it as their launch pad for their network as it’s something that nationally people will tune in and be curious about.

Seven had stated a few times it planned to use the Olympics as a branding “relaunch” for the network. So yes, it would make sense that moves up a month with BB

It needs to be more than just graphics though

Seven feels so old and dated and out of touch. They’ve had so Many turkeys and have not embraced new ideas or taken risks. There is a real stench about them

They need to do something more than just promo graphics if they want to send a clear message to the audience And advertisers that seven is changing.

I don’t have a lot of confidence they will
Do that…

Could they do a 10 and change logo?

No doubt 10 did more than just change their graphics. Thanks to programming, tone and confidence - 10 really did seem
To rebrand themselves

Interesting to hear. I actually quite like their presentation. Nine are most in need of an update I think, their gloss has aged horribly. I would attribute poor programming to their lack of success recently rather than their presentation.

Looking forward to a change though!

This sounds about right @MBB

Before Corona, many leaks and cryptic corporate interviews were hinting at a network and presentation relaunch around this time. The question is, just how big of a relaunch will we see?

Just imagine if 7 dropped a complete network, corporate and TV presentation rebrand, similar to 10’s a few years ago! A new imagining of the current logo, new graphics across news, sunrise and TV presentation would be an absolute dream!

I have absolutely no hope however :rofl:

They couldn’t afford a network wide logo rebrand at this stage. It’s a massively expensive exercise and the financial position even is in, they can’t justify that right now.

It will be just graphics of what I have heard is right.

Agreed. They need new branding across news and sunrise. Both are looking tired.

As I said, it’s not 100% confirmed but the person I know internally had been dropping hints. Monday could be bigger then just a BB launch. That’s all

In saying this, it’s seven so probably will be nothing :joy:

When you say massively expensive… put that in context please. Like $1m - $2m? More?

The cost of 2 eps of BB?

Think about it. Every document with a logo on it, business cards, logos on and outside of buildings, merchandise, crew uniforms, promos, graphics, any form of branding. Everything that has a current 7 on it has to be changed - it’s not just changing a logo on screen. It’s an expensive exercise. It would then also have to be implemented across the regional stations as well.

It’s not a quick or cheap process.

Yes but how much? Any idea?

Needs context other than just saying massively expensive

Lol. I don’t think anyone can pluck a figure mate, I don’t have a list of every asset they have internally as I don’t work for them lol. It would be into the millions. Some logos alone to design can cost hundreds of thousands alone for just the design. We see it all the time in council and government.
Then the cost to implement the new look is the next level.

If you read what I said above. Things cost money. Think of the gigantic big red seven outside of BCM. That doesn’t cost $100.

Think of the costs of business cards and internal and external stationary alone. Every department, State, faction. Stuff isn’t cheap!

Even changing logos on network graphics. News, sunrise etc. that still costs money because the normal people who work in these departments are using the time they are paid for their normal job doing a rebrand.

If you put this exercise into perspective considering they are essentially the second largest media company in the country it’s bloody expensive.

Ten were able to it post buyout of CBS and they are half the size in company compared to Seven

Are we expecting 7:30pm with BB? Or 6pm with news? Or 5pm with Chase?

Or in 90min at midnight tonight! (Hasn’t this traditionally been when they’ve happened, under the cover of darkness?)

Surely they haven’t produced and automated all of tomorrow’s promos, PRGs, sponsor boards, etc in one format… Only to have the exact same vision/audio but with the new look 12 hours later!?
