Seven News (Regional Qld)

The two shot is sat further back than before. The glass 7 panel to the right and the three screens on the right no longer visible. The solo shots are likely green screened but the two shot is still in studio as the screen reflects off the desk.

Just watching the Townsville bulletin from June 4, and Nathan’s mic wasn’t on when he came on screen. Sounds like a booth, not that bigger studio space.

It does look almost like its doubling as a desk, very odd thats for sure

They are probably doing the solo shots from the space where they record the news updates while the news is going to air.

Probably explains why all of a sudden the presenters are sitting in front of the “desk” seen at the start of the bulletin (i.e. photo/loop of the set was already recroded).

Their reflections are clipped.

Now the question is why

That second image is a dead giveaway it’s greenscreened. Look at that artifacting on the desk.

Money and productivity. They used to have a floor manager and camera operator, now they need neither. Quicker to key in the required market.

Is this permenant or temporary I mean. It seems weird to change over on a Thursday night

Just noticed this on a Sunny Coast bulletin!

The first two-shot has no perspex desk, but the second does! Wtf are the doing up there?

Is it permanent? If so then it looks like we have a WIN News copycat of sorts. WIN News uses a green screen all the time for their bulletins. Will 7NEWS Regional NSW bulletins follow suit?

If it’s temporary, then that could be a sign a major renovation to the Maroochydore studios is underway.

Why would 7 bother copying WIN? :man_shrugging:

It’s pretty obvious this is a sign of a new set or some changes.

I’d say this is the most likely option - the fact that it’s occurred shortly after the old Melbourne studios were closed can’t be a coincidence (though I’m not sure if the desk will fit into the studio).

Can someone donate something to Perth? I’m sure Rick & Sue could use an actual set.
