Perhaps Regional QLD can send it’s desk (the old Brisbane desk) to Perth ![]()
Agreed. Though it would be nice for RQLD to get a new set, their current set has aged incredibly well ever since that splash of white paint and adding the Brisbane desk.
Eventually, increasing the size of that backdrop screen and those three tiny side screens would give it another breath of life.
The current set is perfectly fine, why does it need to change?
it’s like a hundred years old?
Miles better than Perth’s though.
And that’s a reason to spend money Seven don’t have? The current set is fine yes it’s old but it is functional for its purpose. A fresh coat of paint is all that’s needed. A studio like Seven’s Melbourne studio is just full of gimmicks and adds little. Content is key.
Is it perhaps actual ‘studio’ changes rather than the set?
Not sure on their current setup, but automated cameras, changing out the lighting, that kind of stuff?
It’s possible as well. Although wouldn’t surprise me if they somewhat fitted the old 7News Brisbane desk (complete with the old front screen) in front of an imported studio sent in from interstate.
An actual new studio could also mark the start of the post-Rob era.
It’s a total roof replacement on the entire building.
The roof has been leaking in multiple places including the main studio.
All bulletins and upodates are being done in the small studio, its a very tight workspace but the only alternative.
Only room for one camera operator/floor manager and cameras can not be moved for tracking in or out, even panning is limited.
Roof is scheduled to be finished by June 20th - weather permitting.
Also, at this time there is no plan to instal remote cameras.
Your team has done an incredible job in making the bulletin look very close to normal still.
The average Joe probably won’t notice any differences.
I was surprised they were able to switch between the double shot and tight single shot. Potentially better than 10??
Just watched 7News Toowoomba on 7plus and there is a story on there about working from home and living in the regions but the story was from 7News border as it was a local reporter and filmed in Albury
For the record, the bulletins returned to the main studio on Monday.
Looking on 7plus Qld have also adapted the same OTS as NSW
Also seen in Regional QLD this week. Supposedly from the looks of it the regionals were first to sport the new OTS, am I right?
7NEWS Cairns: Wednesday 9th July 2025
Emily Steinhardt presented the weather forecasts for much of Regional QLD tonight because Livio is in Cairns at the Cairns Show. He presented the FNQ Weather Forecast from the show tonight.
I’ve also posted a clip of it to my Odysee channel if anyone wants to check it out.
Looks good. ![]()
