Do they have a different shot of this for each market?
Hopefully all is good with Rob.
Sounds like he’s on gardening leave until the “he has decided not to return” line is spun at the end of ratings season.
What an awful thing to say when it is explained as it is above. Show some compassion.
Is there a deleted post? Who are you talking to?
The comment above mine.
Oh.
Some pearl-clutching it the group I see. My point was “compassionate leave” sounds like spin for the viewers.
Did you read the end of the statement about “this tough time” … that seems to indicate something has happened. Be sensitive until you know what it is at least.
There is no hidden agenda, Rob is on genuine compassionate leave.
Reading from another thread there’s a possibility that mount isa may get a local news bulletin should Seven buy ITQ from SCA. Is it going to be a standalone news bulletin read from the Sunshine Coast or would there be a combined Townsville / mount isa news bulletin coming from the sunshine coast or would a mount isa bulletin have a different newsreader from a completely different place altogether?
Noodle updates.
The updates may come from Tasmania.
I believe the Seven Darwin updates are already being produced in Tasmania? If so, they can also do the Mount Isa news updates from Tasmania. It makes sense.
For a single regional town that hasn’t even reached 19k people? Where did you read this?
The Spencer Gulf bulletin, the smallest population for a regional bulletin before it was axed, served roughly 150k IIRC.
It’s a wild extrapolation from what I posted back here.
If Seven bought the Seven affiliates from SCA, then there’d be the same trigger event in the Mt Isa market, and a few others, that resulted in Mildura getting news updates after the Prime purchase. But the logistics of how they do that are like 10 layers of what if away.
there isn’t, there is no possibility of this.
Correct. Just noodle updates, and I believe they’ll come from Tasmania. The Darwin updates come out of Tasmania, so it makes sense. Or maybe even no local news for Mount Isa at all, not even noodle updates.
And who knows, if Seven buys it, they could either continue having inserted regional advertising, or they could just wipe it out and turn it into a direct repeater of BTQ-7 Brisbane, just like what’s happened with Griffith where their Seven (under WIN) is now a fully 100% ATN-7 Sydney. Instead of sparking a debate among all of us members, I’m going to leave this to you to decide…
