I believe it’s because they aren’t recorded live. Sunshine Coast has one, as it is read live.

Ned is much better at presenting than he is reporting. Still needs a little work on that broad Aussie accent that creeps in now and then. Like Mia Glover on 9.

It looks like they’re keeping Jo centred on the desk, even in the dual presenter config. Looks really weird in the opening shot. Also love how Dani wipes in at the end of the Cairns weather

I watched the latest videos from last night and I thought something seemed different about the set.
They’ve adjusted the backdrop lighting so that it looks moodier. Small change but it looks great. Doesn’t make that back wall seem as bare.

It’s meant to be a fake live shot - they try and play the recording at the time when the bulletin goes to air (i.e. if it’s still broad daylight, then they play the recording from when it’s still daylight - if it’s a night, then they play the recording when it’s at night) - Hope that makes sense.

Ned was nervous, but will be great with time. Much better than Nathan shouting last week. It will be interesting to see what they are planning to do here.
The weather presenter fading in and out doesn’t look great.

I guess they are still having to deal with HR stuff, conflict resolution things, etc.
Also, given he is one of the main reason’s why viewers tune in, then they may want to keep promoting him until he has definitely left - however, it wouldn’t impact much because of the other main reason why people tune in - because they are the only decent local news.
