Kay working 7 days a week over the summer?
I think Kay will commence her annual leave either after tomorrow nightâs bulletin or mid next week. Sports presenter Pat Welsh finished up tonight and said he will return in early January. I expect Max and Katrina to take over anchoring duties until either Sharyn or Bill return after Kay goes on holidays.
Does anybody know how much longer Kay is signed to Seven for?
Nine should be doing everything they can to lure her over as weeknight anchor.

I think the chances of Kay McGrath moving to Nine are probably about the same as Sevenâs main Adelaide and Perth newsreading duos switching networks: Very slim to none.

Really? She seems pretty fed up and hasnât exactly tried to hide her displeasure.

I thought of that too but when I really thought about it, it didnât feel right. There a some presenters that are so iconic to the network that it would be weird seeing them elsewhere, as if they have their networkâs logo imprinted on them. Kay McGrath is one of those IMO. Ron Wilson, Sandra Sully, Rick and Sue, Ken Sutcliffe are some examples.

[/quote] It was said that after 30 years anchoring Monday-Friday for Seven News Brisbane, Kay was âhappyâ to work weekends whilst nothing was mentioned about Rod. However, I have made narks about Seven News Brisbane, switching their best anchor etc on Twitter and Kay has liked them. So interpret what you want.

I donât get the overwhelming love for Kay McGrath. Sheâs very competent but no warmer or no better reader than Sharyn Ghidella.
She could have handled that incorrect voiceover so much better by saying:
âGood evening Iâm Kay McGrath, filling in for Sharyn and Bill. First tonight,âŚâ
In the US itâs quite common to leave the regular presenters name in the voiceover. Itâs no big deal when it occurs here.
Mark Ferguson will be presenting Seven News Sydney tonight, and probably for the rest of the week.
Surely Iâm not the only one who wonât be surprised if Michael Usher actually doesnât fill in on Sunday to Thursday whenever Fergo actually goes on holidays?

I agree, and I wish we did it here as I really like that⌠But we donât and its very uncommon here for the wrong presenters to be announced.
Sunday (18.12.16): In Brisbane, Rohan Welsh was on sport and Laura Dymock presented the weather. Kay McGrath presented her final bulletin for the year.

Christie Cooper looks to have returned to Seven Melbourne just after three months since leaving. She was on Sunrise this morning filling in for Nathan Templeton. Not sure if sheâs back for good or just doing some freelance work
