It isn’t really the “epicentre” of the second wave. Maybe he was trying to talk about Highpoint City (which is Highpoint) as being one of the affected areas.
I was wondering if Jane and Tim may be working less shifts due to the risk of covid-19?
I am sure Adelaide and SA audiences are loving these segments!
Melina Sarris is filling in for Jane from Tuesday to Thursday this week.
Thursday 2 July-
Sean Sowerby is presenting sport on Morning News again today.
Sean Sahby fits very nicely with David Brahn for the Morning News team.
they all got pay cuts due to Covid… around 20% - so a reduction in workload seems only fair
Going forward I think sport will be presented from Melbourne by whoever would present the sport in that market’s afternoon bulletin on any given day.
Sean presents sport on Melbourne’s 4pm bulletin from Monday-Thursday so there’s a good chance he could appear on the Morning News on any of those days.
Although I reckon they will also use Jacqui Felgate a few days a week. And Matt Carmichael from Sydney may do it on a Friday in particular if he’ll be presenting sport in Sydney on Fridays & Saturday’s from now on.
I think Jacqui will do 2 or 3 days a week on Morning News but she is away on holiday this week.
Thursday: Mark Beretta is presenting sport on Sydney’s afternoon news and 6pm news
Just a slight possibility but I wonder if Sydney have changed their sport roster now Jim’s left, so that Mel presents sport Saturday-Wednesday and Mark Beretta Thursday and Friday? So that Beretts can still do Sunrise from Monday to Friday. Who knows… but it would be great for the Sydney market to have Mark Beretta on their 6pm news.
This did occur before, between 2002-June 2004 when he moved to Sunrise and was replaced by Ten import Matthew White.
Speaking of White, I dare say he could return to Seven, though I’ve heard nothing of it.
I don’t think they’d have the money for it, considering their mass cuts.
But then again, they did hire Sonia Kruger.
though that was towards the end of last year when Seven announced they had purchased the rights to Big Brother.
Back on topic, and I think Matt Carmichael will most realistically take over from Jim Wilson in presenting sport on Friday and Saturday nights, though we’ll just have to wait and see tomorrow night.
Looks like Basil Zempilas has replaced Jim Wilson as the Seven Sports Editor, that is how Basil was addressed on The Latest tonight, as the Seven Sport Editor
What was Basil reporting about on The Latest?
Oh, is it a network-wide position? What does it entail?
