It’s now been over a month since David Brown presented the forecast on Sydney’s 6pm news, with mainly Angie Asimus (who was on again tonight) and Sally Bowrey presenting the forecast during that time. If you ask me that’s more than a bit odd considering that Sydney has had two of it’s biggest weather events of the year in recent weeks, something that you would want your main weather presenter to be on board for surely?

Usually I’m not one to speculate, but I’m genuinely staring to wonder if Browny won’t be returning and/or Seven might be keeping the seat warm for the return of Sarah Cumming from maternity leave around September. If that’s the case, then why did they bother producing a Seven News Sydney promo for David Brown’s Weather in the first place? :confused:

He worked right through the summer so is probably just taking his main block of leave for the year.

I think this is his fifth week off, I’m sure he will be back soon (fingers crossed!).

Perhaps because the new Sydney team was in desperate need of some credibility? Mel has none as a sports presenter on a news bulletin and Ferguson hasn’t resonated with audiences since…um ever.

Fingers crossed he returns.

Hate to be the one to say it but Angie’s latest Instagram post indicates that she is now on holiday as of Wednesday, coincidentally the exact same day that Brownie “returned”. It seems rather convenient that their time off would dovetail mid-week like that.

I guess we won’t know what is happening for sure until Sarah returns in October. For now it just feels like a bunch of different people filling in for each other.

[/quote] Completely agree. I do have a recording of his last bulletin which I will post one day when I’m bored. They did seem on track to finish earlier but sport and weather seemed to go too long. For someone who presented their weeknight bulletin for 10 years (5 years as number 1), I would have expected a reminisce of the last 14 years (IMO should have been the subject of the Flashback segment). However, we do have to remember he is not leaving the network/ or isn’t retiring and the fact that Rod isn’t probably managements favourite person…
