Good for him. Seven don’t deserve his loyalty after the way they’ve treated both him and his wife. I’m surprised he stayed this long considering he was shifted aside for someone who just isn’t suited to the role.
Also happened in Melbourne all those years ago.
Sunday 9 June -
Jim Wilson is presenting sport on 5pm News and Sydney News tonight.
He was in Melbourne yesterday doing sports.
It will be funny seeing him on Nine if this does happen.
Huge loss for Seven Perth if true, nearly 18 years in the role. Damn didn’t think he’d move until after rick and sue.
I’m surprised he didn’t walk after losing the main presenting role to Mel McLaughlin and his wife being treated so poorly by the network.
New addition to 7 Perth - Cassidy Mosconi from 6PR, she also made appearances on Sky.
Monday 10 June -
Matt Carmichael is presenting sport on Morning News.
If Jim Wilson were to eventually leave Seven (although if I’m being honest, I’m surprised that he didn’t leave at least two years ago) to take up a media/communications role at the NRL, I’d obviously be happy for him.
But I’m not gonna lie. Since Chris Bath became the weekend newsreader of 10 News First I was quietly hoping that Jim might’ve eventually joined her on the desk and become the sports presenter on that bulletin, reuniting a great news/sports presenting duo that Seven News Sydney probably should’ve stuck with for longer - especially when you see who their main news/sports presenters are now!
I’m not sure how I’d feel if Seven were to choose Basil Zempilas to be Sydney’s new secondary sports presenter over Ryan Phelan & Matt Carmichael though. OK, I get that Zempilas is experienced at sports coverage and has been presenting Weekend Sunrise for some time now, but compared to Phelan & Carmichael he’s relatively unknown in the Sydney market. I’d probably also really hope that Basil is knowledgeable enough about the Sydney sports/media market, because we all know that viewers in this market want different things to those in Perth.
Adelaide weather presenter Amelia Mulcahy has welcomed a baby girl into the world. She was born last Thursday.
Rick Ardon solo again tonight
Michael Felgate finishes up at Seven today after more than 15 years. As posted on Ten Sport thread, he will join 10 later this year for its Melbourne Cup Carnival coverage but also spend more time working at RSN.
Wednesday 12 June -
Chris Reason is presenting Morning News and Afternoon News in Sydney.
I’m pretty sure he left for 2-3 of those 15 years at 7
Michael joined Seven Melbourne in December 2004,he did quit Seven in March 2012 to join Centrebet and rejoined Seven in 2014.
