Happens a lot.

Chris Reason will file a story for a national audience.

Where Nick Mccallam will file his report to a cater for Melbourne audience.

It makes sense. Just as you’ll likely see him do the national report for the Melbourne mushroom sentencing on Monday.

Yeah he did it for the court case a few months back. Personally I was against it and didn’t think it was needed, again another local story not giving local talent exposure to a national audience.

Golden boy Chris.

That’s his position though. He’s a national face that’s recognised in all markets. He basically coverer the biggest national stories of the day.

Nine and Seven both do it. The ABC and 10 don’t for obvious reasons.

The 6pm bulletins in Sydney and Melbourne will start late, with the AFL elimination final between GWS and Hawthorn going overtime. The final quarter started at 5.41pm.

Considering how (unexpectedly) tight the GWS v Hawthorn game has become, think Seven will be delighted that it’ll delay the news.

And Brisbane. It’s on 7 in Brisbane too.

So it’s on mate too right now?

Correct

The “post game” was always scheduled for 7Mate

The first 3 quarters all went over 35mins because there was a lot of goals & stoppages. The 1st Q for 38min & even 3rd where there was no goals scored for the first 16mins before 8 goals late went for 36mins

Looks like 7 News on the east coast will run close to the full one hour with sports currently airing after 7pm.

Seven News Brisbane is not usually on the air during Riverfire that starts at 7pm so tonight was a rare opportunity to show some fireworks.

Is it worth a programming interruption though?

I mean, I can understand if the presser is “Dezi has been caught and we have a million-dollar recipient”.

This could have waited until the noon newscast where it deserved to lead the rundown.

There is no “noon newscast” on the weekend.

You’re right. The next newscast is 6pm, and waiting until then would be a bit of a disservice.

Anyone else breaking in?
