I don’t get the negativity in this forum. Sarah is allowed to have maternity leave. She’s a terrific journo. When she’s ready she’ll be back.

Nobody is suggesting she isn’t allowed to have maternity leave or that she’s doing anything wrong by doing so. Nor has anything been said about her not being a great journo.
It’s more that Nine have now returned to a dual header, when initially it seemed like Seven had the upper hand given the recent appointment of Sarah (following Sharyn’s departure) and Andrew Lofthouse had stood down.

That’s not what is being discussed - there’s no criticism of Sarah’s journalistic skills or right to maternity leave. It is Seven’s continuing use of Sarah across her maternity break in their promos instead of promoting the team that is actually doing the presenting. Seems a wasted opportunity not to have promoted Katrina Blowers and Samantha Heathwood.

It’s okay with the voice over. “You’re watching Seven’s Afternoon News” “Live from Collins Square”. Then they show a live shot of the building it’s broadcasting from.

Why is Chris Reason doing the story of the funeral of one of the victims in the police Melbourne shooting? No Melbourne reporters capable? Weird choice.
I think Melbourne had its own reporter and localised report?
So why can’t that go national? Why does QLD need someone from NSW doing a VIC report? Just ridiculous.
