The question is… would the local Afternoon Editions (at 4.00pm) remain around the country? I hope so.
You might want to go back and read the whole article, it says Chris O’Keefe didn’t hesitate in declining the offer to join 7.
.. and yet on the cross promo with KISS 97.3 (the young reporter competition) they say “Your News. Our Misson.” ???
The safe programming choice would be to keep 4pm, at least until you know that the 3pm format is successful. But I would be interested to see how stripping the filler from the local news and nationalising it in to a new 90-min show and then do a straight 30 min local afternoon news at 4.30pm would go?
With Sean Power at the helm, I’d tip Teegan Dolling to be involved.
Anything they try at 3pm is going to be up against it. Going to need lots of promotion or something novel? Tipping Point UK is the competition on 9. That’s where 7’s woes all began.
Interesting choice; just in the voice over so far, no on screen graphic to support the change.
Long version of a promo now running for Monday night regarding a “simple new check up” “spotting rare cancers” ends with “how you can book in for free and do it for Magda”. Have only seen shorter versions since that omit the final line.
Quite like how they opened the bulletin like this, the use of the angled glass to transition between footage looked good
Longer version including “do it for Magda” was shown during Sunrise this morning.
It’s like they can’t decide on what to use. As I said, the radio promo here in Brisbane for the junior reporter comp uses, “Your news. Our mission.”
That was probably all signed off and completed well before De Ceglie left and they started dumping his stuff.
Seven News Melbourne (6.38) repackaged a Sunrise Report on streaming service MAX launching a new show. Clearly this was a paid advertisement.
Is this really suited to the news? It really is trashing the bulletin.
Bad look Seven
A nice behind the scenes look of the Sydney News Studio - at the end of Sydney’s News (during the Bright Side Stories segment).
No headlines on this evening’s Melbourne bulletin. It was straight to voiceover intro after the 7 logo appeared briefly.
Ummm… Did Seven news Brisbane just go off air?
Sydney sports acknowledged that Brisbane viewers had just joined.
Something up in Qld.
Back on air after break and final segment aired successfully- weather and Sunnyside. Max apologised for the technical difficulties. Then made a joke at the end, “Hope your night is going smoothly.”
