Yes that is the old Sydney news desk. Looks a lot better but it really doesn’t fit the boxiness of that set.

Wow that looks so much better than the previous set! But they really need to upgrade to high definition as the Seven News Adelaide logo on the desk screen looks very dull.

Now we know why Brisbane didn’t get it! 
It wouldn’t take much to turn Adelaide into a knockoff Sydney set either. Frame the backdrop like Sydney instead of with lightboxes, cover the RHS wall with a lightbox print (to imitate the diagonal screens) in the existing framing, and use new lightboxes with the vertical lines to cover that grey corner between the screen and newsroom window.
You’re keeping the existing framing structure (the most expensive and difficult to change part) but redressing it a little.

Good use on angles. Finally getting some standup use of that right hand screen. Move the desk tho

It was like they threw about 10 different desk designs into a blender and that’s what we ended up with.
The old Sydney desk is way better but for goodness sake please get a new set altogether Adelaide.

That previous desk was just weird. Looked like a customer service counter at a clothing store.

re: Adelaide desk, pity the new/recycled one is back on a riser. Does look out of place though.
Also wonder if it has anything to do with the election coverage in March. couldn’t fit 6 people around that small desk. It’ll probably be shifted to the side to be used as the secondary desk.

Actually good point. I would say that’s one of the reasons they’ve brought in a larger desk. From memory they had one from Melbourne at the last state election.
