Nine news will probably win if they push it to a multi as largely the whole market will change with it. Conversion rate Ashes to News will be huge if they hold on. Think of the advertisers folks!

Yep - this is precisely one of the reasons Seven paid (overpaid) for the test cricket rights, it delivers an audience steamrolling right into their flagship bulletin in Sydney and Melbourne.

Adelaide also delayed tonight.

They did a full bulletin of news Thursday and the BBL which was on 7mate continued until news finished

Hilarious!

Also so they can run cricket between promos for The Voice, Home and Away et al.

Plus don’t forget SA viewers - news is now delayed there as well.

Those poor SA viewers not being able to watch Seven News at precisely 6pm on the main channel because it was too busy showing the conclusion of a thrilling Ashes test.

Considering they subjected NSW & VIC viewers to the same thing, the only responsible thing for ACMA to do would be to strip Seven of their broadcast licence… /s

A sports highlight being replayed? What a concept

IIRC he revealed he doesn’t timeshift and doesn’t even use catch up apps. He bases his entire commentary on pre-digital live viewing. If it ain’t live to air it just doesn’t get watched or worth talking about. Each to their own, but it’s just weird. Is his audience 60+?

Despite the delayed start, Seven News Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide all ran 1 hour and 3 minutes tonight - seems to be a pattern.

What time did it start?

Around 6:50

You know what’ll really get people in their knickers? Most nights, the 6 o’clock news begins at 5:58.

Now that’s just not proper.

Seeing the issue with them stretching the live camera across the whole screen tonight in Melbourne. Due to it being blown up beyond its resolution we are seeing it flicker and jump.

Pretty distracting if the ad for Medibank and Marvel behind them isn’t already.
