that shot change off the back of the opener is truly awful
You were right with what you said in your post replying to BJT2 until you quoted this. How does this relate and why is this so random? Whereâd you get the proof for this?
Melbourne has changed their 4pm opener AGAIN
Youâve gotta be kidding meâŚ
Or more like (to quote John McEnroe) âYOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!â.
I actually canât describe how disjointed that entire shot looksâŚ
(At least they got rid of that terrible @4PM)
Do you really think a newsreader on hundreds of thousands of dollars is going to be filthy when literally millions of people right around the world have been stood down, made redundant, furloughed or working reduced hours? In fact thousands of their viewers would be in that position.
If they are filthy about it I wouldnât renew their contract because they are not the kinds of people who can relate to an audience.
Well said. Those working at networks (especially at Seven) should be lucky they still have a job rather than be dirty. However, with rumours of toxic culture in their newsrooms, wouldnât be surprised at the attitude of workers there regarding pay cuts.
As for the new Melbourne opener, well I can say typical Seven Melbourne really. Undecisive and not particularly creative.
Brisbane have changed the text /graphics on their nightly promo/update AGAIN⌠but I actually think itâs the best looking one so far.
Update: next break I saw another promo with the old, well the last version, of the graphics. Oh dear. Make a decision guys.
This shot is absolutely hideous. Probably not a popular opinion, but 7 Melbourne have one of the worst sets in the country, an absolute 9 NEWS ripoff. The curves are all disjointed, all the horizontal light panels are not perpendicular to one another and the weird-shaped desk makes absolutely no sense and just weirdly distorts any graphic that is placed onto it.
And the graphics are about a decade late to the party, that story is for another time.
7 NEWS easily have the worst on air presentation out of any Australian news service. Period.
Personal opinion but as Iâve said before, their set was alright before they moved the desk around - that is why everything looks disjointed and horrible now
Iâd say its the best Seven News set currently offered in the country.
Though if they keep it like this, Iâd soon be saying 7Perth may have one of the best sets all round
They may not have the best desk in this country,
but at least they have the
BIGGEST
Have you seen Nine News Melbourneâs graphics at 6pm?
They are no where near as bad as Sevenâs whole package.
I will agree that Nineâs videowall graphics are a bit bleh, but they are no where near as bad as they were when they used the IMPACT font for everything.
As I mentioned above Seven shouldâve gone for a 1 News NZ with their set and have a wrap around wall of screen for their set. Instead they cheapened out and went for two walls and an absurd desk. They couldâve been innovative but the execution has been lacking.
The graphics used to be acceptable but the way they tinkered with it over the years makes it a mess all-round. I donât know why Seven decided to let the local stations do their own âcreativeâ approaches to graphics when they could easily make it standardised, plus it would be cheaper.
This image shows another element of their graphics that I despise, so much blue. Theyâre the red network so why is there so much blue in their graphics?
Thatâs a good question. Maybe red would have been too overpowering everywhere? They should keep the set cover blue and add more red lighting emphasis, maybe?
