I agree there’s a lot wrong with the set but I still prefer it over 9s, and a consistent national look would be ideal.
Sydney bulletin:
Closer was pre-recorded, as the background was still light, when it was already dark by the time the bulletin had started:
I’d agree…if we were talking about 2006 era where they had a cheap Blue screen chroma key studio which looked dodgy as. Fast forward to today and you look at STW you wouldn’t think they were the same station.
I believe you are referring to TVW-7 which is Seven Perth and their green screen monstrosity. STW is Nine Perth
7 Melbourne looked awesome tonight. Hit the perfect note and tone.
I agree. Very classy and respectable bulletin tonight from the Melbourne team.
Yeah sorry TVW! I’d just been looking at something about STW
Some new voiceovers

So bad. Add Tens in the mix. Do we have any decent voice introductions in Australia?
Melbourne will air a series of special reports this week on ‘beyond the road out of COVID-19’. I guess it’ll similar to Nine’s series last week.
Brisbane too.
I don’t mind the graphics used in this.
Should be implemented on air .
Nah, too much blue (nothing usual from 7)
One does have to wonder if and when 7 will adopt a new on-air graphics package. A lot of mish-mash going on.
Would actually prefer to see more white and yellow in their packages before red and blue appear.
It’s the same glossy overused graphics.
They need something completely different and fresh.
Can you list your idea? Would love to hear it. Ideas are welcome, you know.
Yellow for news doesn’t seem right. Stick with red because I know most of MediaSpy prefers this over blue, maybe a dash of white in some areas
Well it works well on SBS and Sky UK
If I get the time I will make a mock for something different.
But really, if you look through the random mocks thread, there are heaps of designs people have come up with which would look fantastic on air for Seven News.
I don’t find it stylish, but that’s only my opinion. Maybe you’d find it good. I’m not sure.
Melbourne has updated their opener tonight - Starts with the Presenter then headlines play, then title card and following by of a reintroduced opener shot of the set when V/O says “starts now”
