Seven HD

It is completely ridiculous how Seven are going to switch back to 7mateHD (in most markets) part way through the Closing Ceremony replay, but so too is their whole HD broadcasting strategy. Confusing and frustrating from a viewer perspective, to say the least!

In any case, somehow I have a suspicion that 7mateHD won’t be back for that long…

People should start complaining on Seven’s Facebook and Twitter.

Seven HD will return for the Grand Final on 1 October

Surely there would have to be some people who have gotten used to watching 7HD over the last few weeks over the Olympics, who will go to 70 tomorrow and get surprised to find 7mate on it.

Rest assured that I’ll be doing just that once the switch is made, although I strongly doubt they will listen!

Don’t forget, as well as the main Facebook page Channel 7 , the localised Perth and QLD pages Redirecting... and Redirecting... I guess there’d be no need to complain on the localised Melbourne and Adelaide pages.

Also direct complaints to the AFL. They caused this

7HD changes to 7mateHD at 12am in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, not Adelaide.

I wonder if they’ll have a pop up graphic that advises viewers in the affected cities to switch to ch 7 to continue watching the closing ceremony because we will be ceasing primary channel programming on ch 70. :stuck_out_tongue:

Would a petition work to make Seven listen?

Maybe. It couldn’t hurt… https://www.change.org

I doubt it. Until it makes a dent in their ratings, which i can’t see happening, they’ll do as they please.

It’s past midnight and they haven’t switched back to 7mate programming in Sydney just yet. The Closing Ceremony is still going on 7HD (ch 70) although the EPG says Talking Footy - new episode.

Well, at least it seems that Seven are kind enough to keep the main channel in HD for the duration of the Closing Ceremony replay…

I’m hoping that too as there’s things on the main channel I’d like to see in HD.

And there it goes. 7HD has reverted back to simulcasting 7mate in Brisbane.
