Another VIC game. There is also 5 teams outside Victoria too!
Can’t agree more from you. The ONLY match they have EVER showed of an interstate team is Richmond v GWS last year, that was on 7Plus
The telecast is produced for a Victorian audience, very few people are interested in watching the Suns or Giants reserves run around.
How many Victorians would rather watch Southport v GWS? And again, all the matches are livestreamed my friend.
No different to the AFL. Main audience is based in VIC so the telecast will cater to that base. Now in the AFL, the trade off is that home state clubs get FTA coverage. In the VFL, NSW/QLD clubs get practice games against players of quality. Can always go back to the NEAFL with no FTA coverage and Div League players if you’d like.
Dreamtime at the G is scheduled for 7.20pm on 21 May which is Federal Election night. A marquee fixture on 7mate in all centres likely
Why the AFL still insisted on scheduling the Dreamtime game on the same night as federal election is puzzling. It will have been better to switch it to Friday to maximise the national audience, and play Carlton v Sydney on the Saturday night.
The game was scheduled a long time before the Election was called. Carlton v Sydney couldn’t be switched to Saturday night as Marvel Stadium is already in use for the Saturday twilight game.
As a member of the small bit in the middle - the overlap between election watching nerds and footy fans is quite narrow. Most of the public would much rather the footy.
The North Melbourne-Melbourne game (Saturday twilight) can move to the Sunday, with Fremantle v Collingwood (Optus Stadium) to be played on Saturday twilight.
7 obviously wanted this game scheduled on Sunday at 3.20pm so it leads directly into 6pm News for the Perth market. It also forms part of a Sunday afternoon double header on 7 with the Giants v Eagles game from 12pm WST.
Yeah i was hoping to work for rhe AEC on election say but the boys are playing in Ballarat!
This long weekend’s AFL schedule on Seven is included in a broader post on all Seven’s sport across the break. Looking forward to this week’s corrections.
Here’s one
It will be shown live on Fox Footy at 12.30pm SA time and replayed on Seven from 3.30pm to 6pm.
It is one of three Port matches that are shown on 3 hour delay on FTA during the home and away season.
Strange to see the Ch 7 coverage start only 5 minutes before the bounce tonight.
It flows in from the Good Friday Appeal. Would no doubt anger some people if they cut away from a charity event to talk about a football match
parano1a was taking about last night’s Brisbane-Collingwood match.
I think the 7.35pm start was to capture Brisbane viewers who had been watching Home and Away.
Not quite AFL but SANFL coverage on 7 is using the wrong colours for Port, should be black and white in SANFL
Good to see Seven finally using the new graphics for the SANFL. Should be back though as you stated!
7 Victoria will show the VFL match between Richmond and Casey on Sunday, due to start at 2:10pm.
