Note that in Sydney, the AFLW Grand Final post-match presentation and wrap will air on 7TWO at 2.30pm, due to 7mate screening the AFL clash between Swans and Kangaroos live from the SCG (Fox Footy production).

According to the Herald Sun, Abbey Gelmi will be the new host of Footy Central updates.

Meanwhile, it’s reported that Seven are using Sunday afternoon games to trial rookie commentators alongside Brian Taylor. Last week we heard Matt Hill, previously Alister Nicholson, and Jason Bennett is also part of the rotation.

Tomorrow night (Thursday 07/04), Hamish McLachlan will pair Jason Bennett.

Well the Adelaide Crows fans in South Australia can’t as this is one of the 3 Crows games that will be delayed on 7 (exclusively live on Foxtel/Kayo)

According to the above press release, tonight’s Port Adelaide v Melbourne match will air from 5.30pm on Ch 7 Perth. It’s not clear whether the broadcast will switch to 7mate at 6pm so the main channel can show the 6pm News.

Bennett is permanent for Thursday nights. I can see him doing Sunday matches when there are no Thursday night matches

Abbey made her Footy Central debut last night during half time of Richmond-Western Bulldogs clash. She also joined in the post-match discussion after giving the update on the result of Fremantle-GWS encounter.

She’s been on national programs before, I don’t know why the need to introduce for the national audience?

Because some footy fans might not have heard the news of Jacqui’s departure last week, and wondered about the sudden change of Footy Central presenter.

Oh ok, I thought you were saying they were introducing Abby to a national audience.

I really wish Jacqui we’ll… I hope she has something good lined up else where, because she really has walked away from something good at Seven. But I can completely understand if they were offering her less pay (if that was the case).

Today’s VFL scorebug has both teams in yellow, however Sandringham are wearing a black clash strip today (St Kilda jumper with blue collar and cuffs).

I’m not sure why this is so hard for the production company to get right.

I actually prefer the same colour, however not the yellow. Have always thought the different background colours on the scorebug for each team just doesn’t look right & rather distracting. It was just a change by Ch7 last year for the sake of making a change, just like the unnecessary additiona of goals + behinds :-/

The score bug would looks heaps better if it was the dark grey for both teams like this one of St. Kilda…

Even better if they removed the goals + behinds like they start the game before a score is made. Less is more :+1:t2:

It’s a handy visual guide to let viewers know which team is wearing which colours and a similar system is used in most American and international sport now. It’s especially helpful if one team is wearing a clash strip with different colours to what they would normally wear.

They’ve also got it wrong again for the AFL. St Kilda is in predominantly black but they’ve gone with white as the main colour.

This is important information as it describes how accurately a team is scoring, which is often a deciding factor in who wins.

Yes but unnecessary to be on screen for the whole game. Displayed every time a score is made like it previously was is more than sufficient :+1:t2:
