Seven AFL Coverage

Fox Footy normally stay with the 7 broadcast until the winning team sing the song in the club rooms. I’m guessing the Front Bar will start shortly after the song is sung.

Almost as long as the game itself probably.

Some of them didn’t finish until 11.30pm last year i think?

But The Front Bar is on tonight.

It’s Friday and Saturday night post match that goes for hours and hours. lol.

“Footy is back where it belongs… up against MAFS!”

Now if only Nine could get MAFS stars playing football… there’d be bound to be quite a few bumps to the head there.

What was that promo for the Paralympics all about on Seven just after the first segment of The Front Bar? A promo that had previously been seen prior to the start of the games.

“Get ready to stream every sport of the Paralympics”.

Embarrassing gaffe for Seven given the Paralympics finished a few days ago. It would have been an error in the date range coded on the promo playout.

So what was the reason behind having the first game on a Wednesday night instead of the normal Thursday night?

It’s a 5 Day celebration of Football for the City of Melbourne after missing out on so many games over the past two seasons. All 10 Victorian teams are playing each other in Melbourne with games on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Did they promote Home and Away would be on 7Two for some markets tonight? As they wouldn’t have been able to do the normal “switch now” full-screen graphic and V/O at 7pm, as it commenced at 6:45pm in Melbourne and 6:30pm in Adelaide. Was there maybe promos on high rotation during Seven News? Or a pop-up at 7pm? Or nothing? Tonight’s episode might’ve rated really low in those markets then, only die-hards and non-AFL viewers would’ve questioned ‘what’s going on’ at 7pm and looked around.

Yes, they’ve done similar in the past couple of years with certain matches not involving local teams still airing live on the main channel. Although they were the whole match, not one half like last night.

" After a record-breaking 2021 AFL Grand Final – the biggest television program last year – we’re thrilled to once again share Australia’s number one winter sport with millions of Australians, live and free on Seven.

Seven’s prime time coverage, underpinned by our expert commentary and insights, delivered fresh perspective on the match and transported fans to the heart of the action.

For the first time in a long time, we heard the roar of a footy-hungry Melbourne and Western Bulldogs crowd. The game injected new life into the hearts of Melburnians, and I can’t wait to see how they react tonight when we return to the MCG to witness the new-look Blues take on Richmond, broadcast live and free on Seven."

Why not? They could do it in an ad break. They aired it at 7pm tonight in Melbourne.

Jason Bennett knows when to say nothing during a moment as shown by his call of the Sam Docherty goal.
