In two Saturdays, Seven Adelaide looks a bit messy, receiving three AFL games back-to-back-to-back from early afternoon to late night, with Seven News between 6pm-7pm.
Meaning two games will over-lap for at least 5min, possibly more, very rare. Saturday night pre game will be voided. Saturday night post game will move to 7mate, so SA with Cosi which was pre empted by day time AFL will air specially at late night on main channel, with a late movie as per Melbourne pushed back to after Cosi instead of after AFL. The 7mate movies are also pushed back by 30min, as a 1 hour Pawn Stars after the end of the switched AFL game has been chosen for 7pm, with a further break before the second movie for the switched AFL post game. Confused yet?

An extended version of the opening round promo which aired during the Supercars coverage today featured a not subtle at all jab at Fox Footy not always covering games at the ground^. It wasn’t subtle by how it stated “Always at the ground” and not subtle by how long that portion lasted which showed various members of Seven’s team interviewing players.
^ And yes, before people raise it, it’s definitely rich for Seven to be doing that considering how they cover the BBL & WBBL.

7 and Fox were both not at the grounds for all BBL. 7 was at the ground for WBBL & all Women’s international.
Hopefully, 7 continues to be at the ground for ALL AFL & Fox starts doing the same too

The times of those games allows them to run into one another. Only an unforseen circumstance would result in a overlap. Injury, lightning.

One of footy’s most respected and entertaining callers, Brian will lead Seven’s Friday Night Football and Sunday Football coverage in 2023, along with other blockbuster matches. One of his generation’s best full-forwards, “BT” kicked 527 goals over 140 games with Richmond and Collingwood, winning the Coleman Medal in 1986 with a season tally of 100 goals.

Luke Hodge – Expert Commentator

Matthew Richardson – Host and Expert Commentator
The Richmond great has been a favourite of Seven viewers for more than a decade, featuring prominently as an expert commentator. Jobe Watson – Expert Commentator

This is the most significant change to Seven’s commentary team since it regained broadcast rights to Saturday AFL in 2012, with the departures of Wayne Carey and Jimmy Bartel, reduced airtime for Daisy Pearce (due to her new role as development coach at Geelong), and Abbey Gelmi currently on maternity leave.
As mentioned previously, Abbey Holmes is unavailable for the opening rounds of the season as she takes part in the new season of SAS Australia.
Also it looks like Seven has axed The Al & Lingy podcast and the Sunday Session on 7plus for 2023.

None of those were there in 2012 IIRC, nor 2013 or much of 2014. Richardson now the longest-serving (2010), with McLachlan, Darcy, Taylor (all 2012 - latter two from Ten and Fox Sports) then follow and Darce has been on Saturday nights since day dot including when at Ten - so you could say he goes back some 17 years in that timeslot. Not sure if Tim Watson is solely focussing on Seven News now (where he’s also been for the best part of 30 years) but he’d be the longest-serving, also going back to Seven’s AFL in the 90s.
